Steve Wojciechowski
(Rental)-Duke Basketball: Creating A Championship Guard
$15.99
Duke Basketball: Point Guard Drills
As a player at Duke, Steve Wojciechowski was one of the most complete guards to ever wear the uniform. Following a successful stint as an assistant coach at Duke and now as the head coach at Marquette University, Wojciechowski shares with you the formula for developing the complete point guard.
A former All-ACC, All-American, and National Defensive Player of the Year, Wojciechowski covers in detail every aspect of a guard’s game. He shares what it takes to be successful at the position and offers up some of the best drills to develop ball-handling, shooting, and defensive skills.
Creating a Championship Guard: Ball Handling
Any guard must be able to handle pressure in order to facilitate the offense. You will see a number of full-court ball handling drills that teach players to:
See the floor as they dribble
Push the pace when they want the game to speed up
Slow the pace in order to organize and command the offense
Create space between themselves and their defenders
Coach Wojciechowski also talks about the importance of developing a relationship with your point guard. He must share the same vision as you. Coach Wojciechowski outlines the five qualities every point guard must have. Teaching these qualities and building the relationship will help the point guard become an extension of the coach.
Shooting Point Guard Drills
The second part of the workout includes a “Game Shots Series” where players practice the shots they normally take in game situations. The series includes the following:
Power layups
Running hooks
Goofy foot layups
Giant killers
Reverse layups
15-foot catch-and-shoot
Post feeds and kick outs
Penetrate and kick
Penetrate and hesitation dribble move
Dribble hand-off
Defense Drills
The complete guard must play defense and Wojciechowski explains the habits a point needs to have on the defensive end. You will see two drills that develop these habits keeping your guards in their stances and developing the conditioning and technique necessary to pressure the ball.
What makes Coach Wojciechowski’s presentation special is that he combines teaching advanced skills with game-like intensity. Players are forced to “up” their game as well as their conditioning levels. The skills that Wojciechowski acquired as a player and an assistant at Duke are masterfully incorporated into this outstanding DVD on guard play. Rent this point guard drills DVD today.
Christopher Collins
(Rental)-Duke Basketball: Quick Hitting Actions For Motion Offense
$15.99
Duke Basketball: Quick Hitting Actions for Motion Offense
Current Northwestern head coach Chris Collins spent over a decade as an assistant at Duke, where he played in college, learning the ins and outs of the Blue Devils’ highly effective, quick-hitting offense. In this video, Collins shares 10 different actions. They are fast-paced, short executions based on a quick read of a defense. One initial read can result in up to ten different options for a total of over 50 scoring opportunities.
Each action set is based on the initial pass from the point guard. There is no set pattern of passes or any repetitive movements in these actions. This is to ensure that the defense has no time to get set and cannot predict what your team is going to do next. After the initial pass, there will be four to six options available to create a scoring opportunity. Collins presents 10 fundamentally sound and strong movements that is sure to improve your team’s overall play.
Wide and Corner: Attack the defense by passing ahead in transition. Both Wide and Corner attack a defense before it has time to set up and offer support with help defenders.
Exchange and Shallow: A dribble entry to the wing initiates both of these actions that are used to counter aggressive wing denial. Hand offs and ball screens force the defense to scramble on the weak side.
Release and Flash: When defenses overplay guards, get the posts involved in these actions. Back cuts and post flashes take advantage of vulnerable defenses that attempt to pressure guards.
Through and Circle: These sets prevent your team from standing around using movement to create passing and scoring opportunities.
Up and Down: These sets occupy defenders and encourage a quick ball reversal which can lead to scoring opportunities. Both sets force action on the weak side with screens.
With the number of options available in these actions, you should be able to find something that you can use and build into your own offense. With minimal effort, you can easily modify any of Coach Collins’ actions and suit them to fit the strengths of your individual players.

This video features Coach Kerns' favorite drills, which give his players confidence and make them ready to face any opponent.
Warm Up Drills
It is difficult to get players ready for practice. Coach Kerns uses video footage and diagrams to help open practice. He also walks you through some of the warm up drills that they use every day.
Splitting players allows for more court space and less time. While some players warm up and stretch, others will work on ball handling and passing skills. Grand Prairie Passing will have your players moving up and down the court as they improve their communication skills, passing skills, and transition offense. The clock is ticking and players must race to make 38-41 points in order to move the ball quickly.
Offensive Concepts and Drills
Breakdown drills are a great way of teaching how to build your offense. Coach Kerns shows you how to use video footage to demonstrate some of the drills that you can use in your offensive system.
The How Many Actions drill requires players to use their offense's actions and attempt to complete as many as possible in 30 seconds. This drill is a great addition to your arsenal. Athletes use different ball screens in Team Shooting to create scoring angles. Kerns uses a basic defensive transition drill to make Open Transition an offensive drill. He focuses on speed and transitions and pushes the pace. These drills can be used to enhance your players' experience, and allow them to feel the game more than if they were running a scripted offense.
Drills and Defensive Concepts
Defense wins championships by emphasizing defense. Coach Kerns shares his top defensive drills which have helped his team stay competitive in a difficult Sun Belt Conference.
Kerns shows how to play 1v1 at different locations so that players can learn how to defend all areas of the court. This drill is great for teaching how to stop a dynamic player from attacking the rim of a screen, or stopping a good shooter from coming from different screens. The 3v3 Closeout game is played in a traditional 3v3 environment, with 12-15 seconds remaining. The defense must defend the pick & roll mid-game and any other actions that are taken away from the ball.
Coach Kerns shows Sequences how players can defend their opponent's favourite actions. This drill is great to use at practice and the beginning of the season to prepare your players to defend any action.
Focused practice drills are essential to the development of your program. This Coach Kerns video will inspire you. It uses both footage and diagrams to show how to have a great practice.

Dwane Casey: Special Situations & Set Plays
Coaches will face numerous special situations throughout the course of a season. From end-of-half and end-of-game situations to the sideline out of bounds play, coaches must be prepared. Dwane Casey, head coach of the NBAs Detroit Pistons, teaches you over 10 set plays that have proven successful at the highest level of the game.
Coach Casey was the head coach of the Toronto Raptors before moving on to Detroit. He is the winningest coach in Raptors history and has an NBA title under his belt as an assistant with Dallas (2011). In this on-court presentation, Casey shows you the spacing and timing needed to get your shooters quality looks and how to counter anything a defense gives you to get a shot when you most need it.
Sideline Out-of-Bounds Plays
Casey presents five set plays each with multiple options to provide either a 2-point or 3-point shot attempt. Casey likes the inbounder to throw the entry pass with his weak hand to make sure that the play can work in any situation. He also teaches inbounders how to decoy players to draw attention away from the primary intention.
One of the plays was used by Toronto where players used a scissors action off a screener at the nail with the point guard starting in the backcourt. If needed, the ball can be inbounded to the backcourt. Three sideline plays are then demonstrated using back screens to catch a lob at the basket or a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer with little time left on the clock.
Endline Out-of-Bounds Plays
Coach Casey shows you how to break a press quickly when you have no timeouts left and then demonstrates five different plays from the baseline in a short-clock situation. He details the sequence of reads for players to get behind the 3-point arc using clean up (screen the screener) actions and flare screens.
Two of the plays use posts at the elbows. There are quick actions that can get them the ball diving to the basket in situations where less than a second remains on the clock. Coach Casey also provides detail on timing, angles of screens, counters, and footwork all to ensure you can execute his plays successfully.
For all of those special situations, Coach Casey provides you with several simple by effective plays that can help your players get shots in crucial situations.

Dynamic Perimeter Player Workout
The development of perimeter basketball players is an absolute must when building a successful program. Perimeter players run the offense and must have a wide range of skills to do so. Tarik Robinson, professional basketball trainer, shows you how to develop perimeter players in this in-depth presentation. Robinson has spent 15 years training basketball players from the elite youth level all the way to the NBA.
In this perimeter player workout video, he addresses all of the skills a perimeter player should have including ball handling, individual moves, defensive skills, and much more. The drills he introduces are easy enough to add to one’s individual workouts or even to team workouts. You will see that Coach Robinson does an outstanding job of challenging athletes in an effort to make them better.
Ball Handling
Perimeter players must be excellent ball handlers. Coach Robinson goes through a series of stationary and on-the-move ball handling drills. From the basic crossover to zig-zag dribbling, Robinson pushes players to be explosive with the ball. The Spider Dribble drill forces players to stay low and focused with the basketball. It is a challenging dribbling drill that will also make your players’ thighs scream.
Ball Screens
In today’s modern game, one of the most important skills a perimeter player can develop is the ability to score off a ball screen. Coach Robinson teaches players how to read the defense in order to create shots or passes to teammates. He teaches the Freeze move, which forces defenses to make a decision giving ball handlers a chance to create for themselves or their teammates.
Individual Moves
Coach Robinson demonstrates some of the moves used by NBA stars like James Harden and Russell Westbrook. These moves are difficult, but Robinson does a great job of breaking them down so that any player can add them to their repertoire. Coach Robinson is big on creativity and it shows in this segment.
Defensive Skills
Perimeter players must be able to defend. Coach Robinson uses combination drills to work on defense while still focusing on the fun part of the game – offense. The Closeout Drill has players work on their steps to the closeout. Players are then rewarded with the opportunity to attack the rim and work on finishing moves.
1-on-1 Drills
The best way to develop any player is simply 1-on-1 competition. Coach Robinson starts with 1-on-0 action to teach footwork and attacking angles. He then progresses to 1-on-1 and teaches a variety of moves including how to draw fouls in the lane.
Today’s game of basketball requires a large skill set. Coach Robinson can help you build complete perimeter players with this DVD. Rent this perimeter player workout DVD today.

Noel Gillespie
(Rental)-Early Pick & Roll Attack
$15.99
The Early Pick-and-Roll Attack
The NBA’s Phoenix Suns have long been associated with high-scoring, fast break offenses. In this video, you will gain firsthand knowledge of the Suns mid-2000s up-tempo attack led by two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Steve Nash. Coach Noel Gillespie, a Suns assistant who is now a G-League head coach, gives you a detailed look at how the Suns got the ball up the floor quickly and used a “7 seconds or less” mentality to become one of the league’s top scoring teams.
Drag Series
The Suns Drag Series is reviewed by Gillespie. The series includes the dribble drag, single drag, and double drag. Gillespie outlines each player’s responsibility including scoring options in each set. He also presents a number of counters that you can put in place against various defenses.
Coach Gillespie details each player’s responsibility in transition whether off of a made basket, a defensive rebound, a blocked shot, or a steal. Gillespie shows you the weaknesses in defenses that are getting back in transition and how to attack them with early pick and roll actions.
21 Series
Another series of plays used by the Suns was part of the 21 Series. It is a series where players are forced to sprint up and down the floor in an effort to maximize scoring opportunities. In the 21 Series, Gillespie shows you there are more options in place for your point guard and plenty of chances for your post players to get involved. Gillespie demonstrates a number of actions including 21 Chase, Counter, Keep, At, Flare, and Delay.
Quick Action
Gillespie continues his teaching with the Suns Quick Action. The popular transition series is based on a wide pin down screen where the wings are looking for curl action and the posts are looking for duck-ins. The point guard has the opportunity to turn the corner for an open drive as well. In addition, Gillespie shows you a quick step up and a quick big which are used for big plays in transition.
Coach Gillespie’s video is short, coming in at 35 minutes, but it is full of information related to improving in transition. If you are looking for ways to create an attacking mentality in your program, this is the DVD for you.
Mike Boynton
(Rental)-Early Shot Clock Offense & Side Out Specials
$18.99
Quick Offense Basketball - Early Shot Clock Offense and Side Out Specials
Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton Jr. shows you how to exploit man-to-man defenses with an efficient secondary break in this quick offense basketball video. He demonstrates his team’s attack in this on-court presentation and shows you how it can take advantage of your ever-changing personnel. Coach Boynton played collegiately at South Carolina and then served as an assistant under Brad Underwood at Stephen F. Austin and Oklahoma State. In 2018, Boynton led the Cowboys to four wins over top-10 teams.
Transition Offense
Coach Boynton starts his quick offense basketball presentation talking about how he learned to play in transition from high school through college. The traditional secondary break alignment that features a rim runner with two wings and a trailer was something that did not fit Coach Boynton’s personnel when he was at Oklahoma State as both an assistant and a head coach.
Boynton then made adjustments to his transition game by taking advantage of what his players did best. Three players and the trailer are basically interchangeable and can fill any of the three perimeter slots. Without a rim runner, the floor is opened up and the point guard has more freedom to attack and probe. The primary action Coach Boynton uses is called “Quick One” which is a drag ball screen play for the point guard if the rim cannot be attacked.
Quick Variations
There are ways to get other players involved with actions similar to Quick One. For example, Quick Two is a play where the wing gets involved and uses a ball screen. The wing can receive a dribble hand-off from the point guard and come off the ball screen set by the trailer.
Quick Four has the trailer and the wing that isn’t in the corner set a double ball screen for the point guard. The trailer rolls to the rim and the wing pops out for a potential 3-point shot. The offense then has the ability to get a post-up or a jump shot from the wing that popped out. You will also see Quick Four Flip, a variation of Quick Four which is used against defenses that like to switch.
Pistol
One action that is becoming more popular is the Pistol. It is perfect for late-game situations because it leads to drives to the basket and open 3-point looks. Coach Boynton includes a few counters to the original Pistol action that you can use if the initial hand-of is not available. Pistol Empty takes advantage of teams that try to anticipate hand-offs. The wing gets a flare screen from the trailer without setting up for a pass from the point or a step-up ball screen.
Coach Boynton packs his presentation full of quick strike actions. It is one of the most important aspects of becoming a good transition team and you will see how you can use the actions taught to score quickly against man-to-man defenses. Rent this quick offense basketball DVD today.
Ed DeChellis
(Rental)-Ed Dechellis: 1--3--1 Extended Half Court Zone
$15.99
Playing the 1-3-1 zone defense is a great way to get rid of your opponent's best player. You can also move other players in defense. A player must be athletic and able to finish at the opposite end of the 1-3-1 zone. The back position is best for a point guard-type player. He covers a wide area from corner to corner, and must be a good communicator. The 3-man covers the left side, from wing block to wing. The best rebounder is the 4-man. He starts on the left wing. The 5-man is the best rebounder and sets up at the line of free throws. His coverage starts from the top of the key block. This defense must discourage the offensive from passing the ball. DeChellis reduces the zone by placing the ball in different places on the floor. To fine-tune the defense, drills are provided. DeChellis describes the 1-3-1 zone as a "high risk, high reward attack" which can quickly change the pace and leave athletic opponents tired.
