Rent Basketball Coaching Videos via Mail

Wouldn't you like to become a better coaching in the next week? What if I told you you could double or triple your knowledge of the game in just a few short months? How much would you pay to double your coaching knowledge? Many coaches think they can just get by year to year on experience alone and looking up some new plays or drills on the Internet.

That is a recipe for stagnation. You see if you really want to become a great basketball coach you need to study the game and learn from the best coaches in the business. Now you can travel to coaching clinics, pay for hotel rooms, food, admission to the clinic, and then sit on those really comfortable bleachers for 8 hours. Oh, and you'll hopefully someone will cover exactly what you are looking for. Now that's just the beginning of your problems attending a coaching clinic - because each coach is limited in the amount of time they have on the court so they can only cover so much.

Full Court Trapping Systems For Controlling Tempo by Dana Altman Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Dana Altman (Rental)-Full Court Trapping Systems For Controlling Tempo $17.99
Full Court Trapping Systems for Controlling Tempo Teams that only press when behind usually do not have much success trying to do something that is not part of their defensive system. Oregon head coach Dana Altman presents the Oregon Press System, one that can help teams control tempo, in this video. Coach Altman is one of just a few Division 1 head coaches to every amass 19 straight winning seasons. He has taken his Ducks to four Sweet Sixteens in his nine years at Oregon. A big part of his success is his pressing system. In the video, Coach Altman presents both the Blue Press and the Green Press defining the parameters of each and the rules for each player. Full Court Trapping System Blue Press Blue starts as a three-quarter court press with the opportunity to trap. Coach Altman shows you how he divides the court up into sections. This helps players understand how to use certain areas of the floor to entice opponents into trapping situations. The Blue Press can trap on either side of the court, but Altman prefers it on the defensive end. Blue is used to control the tempo of the game keeping the opponent uncomfortable all while burning time off the shot clock. Full Court Trapping System Green Press Green is a much more aggressive 1-2-2 full-court press used when your team is behind and must get back in the game. Similar to most Diamond presses, Coach Altman uses it to speed up tempo and get more possessions on offense. The key points Altman shares about the Green Press are: How to press with a man on the ball How to make the trap off the first pass How to press against multiple press breaks such as the 1-4 and 3-men-at-half-court press breaks How to neutralize a star point guard and force them to give up the ball How to utilize your personnel so they are in the right position during the press Bonus Features In addition to discussing his Oregon Press, Coach Altman shares some additional information for coaches looking to become effective at pressing. Altman shares how to: Trap if the ball is brought up the sideline Effectively trap in the half-court Trap an inexperienced player and how it can benefit your team A full-court press can be a game-changer for a program. Off Season Basketball Shooting Drills with Fred Hoiberg It is one of the most fundamental skills in basketball – shooting. In this video from Nebraska head men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg, you will discover a collection of shooting drills from some of the best shooters of all time. Hoiberg, the former Iowa State head coach, spent 10 years in the NBA and, most recently, was the head coach of the Chicago Bulls. Throughout his career, Hoiberg has collected a number of drills from players like Larry Bird, Chris Mullin, and Reggie Miller. Hoiberg’s 2012 Iowa State team engineered the biggest turnaround in Big 12 history when it won 23 games and beat defending national champion Connecticut in the NCAA tournament that year. Hoiberg’s Cyclone teams were always among the nation’s leaders in scoring and his 2013 team led the country in 3-pointers per game. In this 52-minute off season basketball shooting drills video, you will see Coach Hoiberg put his players through an offseason shooting workout. The drills he uses come from the likes of Bird, Mullin, and even himself. Hoiberg led the entire NBA in 2005 in 3-point field goal percentage shooting a blistering 48 percent from behind the arc. Off Season Basketball Shooting Drills & Workout The workout begins with warm-up drills for shooters. Each drill emphasizes footwork, balance, and finishing every shot. You will see 10 more shooting drills that cover a number of different situations. Some have conditioning elements while others attempt to replicate coming off a screen in a game-like atmosphere. Transition shooting, shooting off the catch, and finishing at the rim are all skills that are addressed in these drills. At the end of each drill, shooters complete a round of 3-pointers. Players make two 3-pointers from five different spots – corner, wing, top, opposite wing, opposite corner – before coming back around to make one at each spot. Once the 3-pointers are finished, players make five free throws in order to continue to the next drill. Coach Hoiberg is a firm believer that shooters are made in the offseason. Sharman White (Rental)-Free Throw Line Break $15.99
Sharman White: Free Throw & Sideline Fast Break Offense  Sharman White, former Georgia State assistant and current Pace Academy (GA) head coach, sets a goal of 16 to 24 points per game in free throw situations. Coach White is talking about fast break opportunities off of both made and missed free throws. In this on-court demonstration, Coach White shows you how to gain an advantage on any team simply by using the free throw line. Coach White points out how you can attack teams from a dead ball situation and catch them off guard. You will see White’s sideline break alignment using his 14 and 15 play calls with a detailed explanation of each position. The idea is to attack in three seconds or less by moving the ball quickly with overhead passes. Coach White demonstrates how it is done in both a 5-on-0 and a 5-on-5 situation. Once players have mastered this situation, Coach White then goes into counters and how to beat your opponent even when they know the break is coming. You’ll see a flex cut or shuffle cut thrown into the sideline attack which effectively throws out your opponent’s scouting report. Special Situations Another situation Coach White reviews is when your team is trailing late in a game. Using the X and X2 calls, he shows you how to use your players basketball IQ and their athletic ability to generate easy points off a missed free throw or how to get a 3-pointer at the buzzer when needed. Attacking Press Coach White’s presentation ends with him taking you through a press that attacks your opponent whether you make or miss a free throw attempt. In “Black” he demonstrates how to attack opposing post player who don’t like to handle the ball in pressure situations. Against good competition, coaches are always searching for an advantage. Tyler Whitcomb (Rental)-Encyclopedia of the 4-1 Defense $18.99
Confound your opponents with the 4-1 defense, and hide your true tactics! You can teach positioning and rotations in 4-1 defense to ensure your players don't get in the wrong place on the court To put pressure on your opponent, set traps in the 4-1/defense and force turnovers Different looks are allowed within the 4-1 defense. Tyler Whitcomb West Michigan Aviation Academy Boys Basketball Head Coach Inventor of the Elevation Offense; ex-pro basketball GM and Scout; More than 100 victories for high school coaches; These players are part of the West Michigan Lakers AAU Program. Coach Tyler Whitcomb uses his 4-1 defense to take multiple shots at opposing offenses. Whitcomb uses the 4-1 defense to create opportunities for his teams to trap the corners and trap the wings as additional looks. This demonstration will give you a full guide on how to run the 4-1 defense to confuse your opponents. Positioning Whitcomb starts by discussing the importance of Whitcomb's defensive plan with his most important player. The defense's "middle-linebacker," or center, is responsible for communicating with the four other players about where they should position themselves when the ball moves. The "cornerbacks" are the players closest to the wings. They are responsible for covering the corners and taking any initial passes to the wings. The remaining two players must cover the elbows of the point guard and add length to the top zone with a second defender. The ball's position allows for lob passes, and the defense of the short corner on the ball side against an offense with a 2-1-2 line. The middle linebacker tries to steal the ball, while the opposing side cornerback robs the basket of any attempt at a lob. Corner The whole purpose of the 4-1 zone defense system is to encourage passes into the corner. The trap is set when the ball touches the ground. You'll then see Coach Whitcomb explain the roles of the remaining three players. The elbow defenders will be responsible for preventing any return pass from the trap or pass to the highpost. Two defenders will be assigned to the remaining cornerback. The cornerback should also be aware of any backdoors or flash cuts that may be attempted by the offense. Whitcomb explains that the defense simulates rotations against an offense in live action. Rotations against a 3-1-3-1 formation are also shown, where communication is essential by the middle linebacker. Multiple Looks The 4-1 defense can cause more problems for the offense by changing the way traps are set. One example is a "Blast" call. This is where the point guard is held hostage by two middle defenders as they bring the ball to the front court. Fire is the opposite of Blast. This call allows the ball to be passed to the wing, where it will be caught on the catch. The 4-1 defense has the advantage of being able to adjust to the offense's alignment. The defense uses color coding to create different ways it can adapt to the offense's alignment. These colors are: Orange - Change the alignment to create a 2-3 zone look (like Syracuse's runs). Blue - Adjust alignment to create a 1-3-1 look. Green - Change the alignment to 1-2-2 zones. Purple - Change the alignment to a zone of 3-2. You can create an extra look by starting in a 4-1, then jumping into a man to-man defense. This is usually done by calling out the name and number of a player. Your program will benefit from this comprehensive and in-depth look at the 4-1 defense. Coach Whitcomb takes the time to demonstrate a complex defense. 44 minutes. 2021.
Encylopedia of the Elevation Offense by Tyler Whitcomb Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Tyler Whitcomb (Rental)-Encylopedia of the Elevation Offense $18.99
Elevation Offense Basketball Encyclopedia Continuity offenses are often anything but simple. Tyler Whitcomb, founder of the Elevation Offense, disagrees and shows you a continuity offense that is easy for players to learn and has the ability to generate numerous high-quality scoring chances. Whitcomb is a former pro basketball general manager and scout who is currently the head coach at the West Michigan Aviation Academy. His Elevation Offense opens up the floor and, in this video; he shows you how to flow right into it from transition and inbounds plays. Structure and Essentials of the Elevation Offense Coach Whitcomb begins on the whiteboard and diagrams the Elevation Offense. It all begins from the Horns alignment, which creates a consistent structure. Whitcomb explains the multiple options for entry and then uses on-court demonstration to reinforce the concepts. Players are taught several “automatics” that help them pick up the idea of the continuity. Coach Whitcomb goes deep into the many opportunities available for scoring. Spacing the floor helps to open up baseline drives. You will learn other calls and reads that allow for scoring off the primary screening actions in the Elevation Offense. There are also opportunities to create isolation situations and exploit weaknesses in opposing defenses. Sets and Breakdown Drills of the Elevation Offense Basketball Whitcomb demonstrates seven different inbound plays, five from the baseline and two from the sideline. The baseline plays use a box alignment and Coach Whitcomb shows you how each play flows directly into the Elevation Offense. The sideline plays do the same. Four breakdown drills are shown to help teach and build the offense. Guards learn to shoot off the screen and attack on drives. Posts work to get better at finishing at the rim while slipping the screen. The 5-on-0 Drill allows players to go through all the scoring options available in the Elevation Offense. Coach Whitcomb’s system is a great way to run a continuity offense using passing, replacing, and special screens. The offense takes away help defenders in almost every situation and is a must-see for coaches looking for new ideas or a completely new offensive system. Establishing A Full Court Pressure Defense by Richard Pitino Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Richard Pitino (Rental)-Establishing A Full Court Pressure Defense $17.99
Establishing a Full Court Pressure Defense In his first year as the head coach at Minnesota, Richard Pitino took his team to a NIT tournament title. He was also named the 2017 Big Ten Coach of the Year after leading the Gophers to a 24-10 record and a berth in the NCAA tournament. Pitino’s success is largely related to his style of defense. In this video, Coach Pitino demonstrates how he disrupts his opponents with an aggressive full-court man-to-man defense. White & Blue Presses Coach Pitino goes onto the court to go through his White and Blue pressure schemes. White is a man-to-man press that focuses on tremendous ball pressure. Defenders continually look for the optimal trapping opportunities. Blue is another press that allows the entry pass into the short corner where the first trap can be made. The ball is usually reversed to the inbounder who is not normally a good ball handler. That is what Pitino wants so he can force the inbounder into a mistake. Coach Pitino also reviews adjustments that opponents have made and how to counter those. Full Court Pressure Defense Drills Coach Pitino shares a number of drills that you can use to build relentless ball pressure in both the full-court and half-court. Pitino uses a series of drills beginning with 3-on-3 and progressing to 4-on-4 and 5-on-5 to help build a better understanding of the defense and to build a more aggressive attitude. Scramble is another drill that helps players learn to cover the open man and continue to apply pressure with active hands. Coach Pitino guides you through every situation an opponent can throw at you. As a result, your defense will be prepared to apply pressure continuously and frustrate opponents. Also included is one of Coach Pitino’s favorite conditioning drills. To apply pressure all game long takes well-conditioned athletes so Pitino shares “85 and 2.” It’s a full-court drill that prepares players to play full-court pressure defense. The whole idea of Coach Pitino’s defense is to create unconventional possessions by the offense. It takes a relentless attitude to do so and Pitino shows you how it can be done in this extremely informative presentation. Rent this full court pressure defense DVD today.
