Description
The NCAA tournament has been a huge success story for Coach Davey's Santa Clara team over the years. Davey has put together a great series of drills and techniques to help your post players catch the ball, get open and score. Davey's approach to developing efficient and scoring post players starts with a focus on footwork and clearly-defined drills. Davey's drills are specific to getting you to score baskets in the paint. Davey uses six passing and catching drills to prepare for the block. He uses a five-step method to catch the ball and check the defense before moving. The two techniques walk away and circle are used to teach post players how to open themselves against aggressive defenders. He then explains and illustrates nine scoring moves. Each one presents a challenge to the defender. These moves can be used by players of all ages to remain a threat in the painting.
