Specializing the Swing Offense
Bo Ryan has shown the swing offense to the nation at Wisconsin. Now Loras College’s Greg Gorton demonstrates their version of the swing and all of the reads and counters to make it effective as a motion type offense. Gorton emphasize the first and second cutters. He defines and demonstrates five cuts, counters and reads off the swing basic cuts. They are change, read up, follow, Utah, and bump. They are designed to take advantage of how the defense defends each cut including playing sagging man. He also demonstrates pressure release entries and how to run the offense with a dominant big man who doesn’t leave the post.
