All-In-One “Complete Player” Workout
Lyndsey Fennelly was a 2007 All-American point guard at Iowa State University and a second-round draft choice of the WNBA’s Indiana Fever. Fennelly went on to become the course director of Point Guard College and in this video demonstrates the All In One workout. The workout, which works a variety of different skills, was one of the reasons why Fennelly was so successful as a player.
Shooting
The workout was designed to develop the complete player. It can be done individually or with other players. The workout focuses on areas that make players more dangerous. These include working on shooting the 3-pointer, attacking the basket, finishing around the rim, and finishing with the back to the basket.
Ball Handling
Fennelly begins the workout with a series of one-ball ball-handling drills. Players move up and down the floor in an attempt to get loose and work up a sweat in preparation for the core of the workout. Starting with ball-handling drills also helps players build the confidence needed to put the ball on the floor and attack defenses.
Creative Finishing
In the second part of the workout, Fennelly encourages players to think outside the box when finishing. Players work on creative finishes and put them to the test. Fennelly demonstrates six atypical finishes around the rim. The idea is for players to learn not just to take shots but to learn to make shots.
To become a complete player, one must be able to shoot. It doesn’t matter if it is long-range 3-pointers or mid-range jumpers. Players have to be able to hit shots. Fennelly demonstrates the one-dribble pull ups where players learn to catch and shoot and use shots fakes to create open shots. Players learn to consistently create and knock down shots from anywhere on the floor.
The All In One workout is a dynamic skill development workout. Coaches can use the instruction in this video to build a complete, unstoppable player that is confident in his or her abilities. Rent this Complete Player workout DVD today.
