Lon Kruger
(Rental)-Flexible Offensive Attack
$15.99
Coach Kruger starts with his key keys to setting up an offense that is strong. These keys include setting up an offensive board and getting back, getting easy baskets, getting open from the wings, running and catching with no turnovers, and switching sides to attack defense. Kruger shows several strategies in the half court that will help his team score high. Every component of the half court offense needs to be broken down and drilled. To dictate his position, the posts must be taught how to make contact in the paint. He also discusses the post feeds, the shuffle cut and ball reversal. This list is combined into plays that can be numbered to identify the players on the court. The on ball screen is used in the early offense. It can be used against zone presses or man-to-man. This flexible offense allows for good spacing and provides opportunities for penetration as well as mismatches.

Robert Jones
(Rental)-Floppy Defense To Disguise Your Zone & Man Defense
$18.99
Floppy Defense – A System to Disguise Your Zone & Man Half-Court Defense
The zone defense is become more popular among college and high basketball coaches across the nation because it does pose some difficulties for opposing offenses. In this video, Norfolk State head coach Robert Jones discusses and demonstrates his “Floppy Defense,” a combination of the 2-3 zone, 3-2 match-up zone, and man-to-man. Watch as Jones, a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Award in 2014, explains the defense in a chalk talk and then takes you to the court to demonstrate it.
Floppy Defense Basketball
Coach Jones first explains each of the three defenses – 2-3 zone, 3-2 matchup, and man-to-man – that make up the Floppy defense. You will see how and when to switch when the offense is running their play. This creates confusion for the offense and ends up slowing it down.
The defense starts in the traditional 2-3 zone and then switches to Floppy 5 (man-to-man), Floppy 3 (3-2), and back to 2-Flat, which is the 2-3. The first pass to your 3-man’s side determines the switch. Post players pick up opposing post players to ensure you don’t end up with mismatches on the wing when switching into Floppy 5. Coach Jones then shows you how to defend the most common actions his team’s see and how to defend ball screens.
Floppy Defense Breakdown Drills
Coach Jones takes to the court to show you the man-to-man breakdown drills. The drills stress denying passes, help defense on the ball, , post defense, and defending cutters. Players begin in 1-on-1 situations and incorporate other defenders to build the team defense. Closeouts and constant communication are emphasized in every drill.
Jones also gives you his 3-2 zone breakdown drills as well as a number of 2-3 zone drills. His “Top Two” drill features one guard pressuring the ball with the other guard defending the high post.
Full Court Pressure
Coach Jones likes to use full-court pressure before the Floppy defense to force opponents to play faster than they would like. This can disrupt the offense and force turnovers. Jones shows you the press, a 1-2-2 zone and then how to get right into the Floppy 5. He also shows you how to go from pressure to the 2-3 zone.
Jones’ Floppy concept is a unique approach to confusing opposing offenses. Give your team an edge against more talented teams with the Floppy defense!

Bruce Weber
(Rental)-Formulating a Winning Team Defense
$18.99
Formulating a Winning Team Defense
Bruce Weber is one of the top coaches in the country and is well known for his teams’ defensive efficiency. His Kansas State University Wildcats were the 2013 and 2019 Big 12 champs thanks, in large part, to suffocating defenses. In this video, Coach Weber gives you a taste of why he has been so successful on defense. You’ll see a number of drills that have helped him get there.
Team Defense Drills
While offering up his favorite team defense drills, Coach Weber emphasizes three things – the importance of technique, habits, and toughness. All drills focus on these three things. Closeout drills are first as Weber works on the technique of a good closeout. The 3-on-4 Scramble Drill instills toughness and intensity as the defense plays down a man and must finish with a box out and rebound. The Superman Drill helps you determine your toughest defender as one player attempts to get three consecutive stops against three different opponents.
Weber adds in working against the ball screen. The Mascot Drill is used to work on different ball screen coverages. Then, it’s on to transition defense where Weber shows his Rush Drill where the team goes three trips up and down the floor.
Shell Drills
The Shell Drill is a staple of defensive practices just about everywhere. Weber uses the traditional 4-on-4 Shell and then shows some variations that make the drill even more competitive. Gut Check incorporates the losing team running a sprint and then having to transition back to defense to get a set number of stops.
The final drill on the video is the Play Hard Drill. It’s a single-person drill where the player works on denial, jumping to the ball, taking a charge, and diving for a loose ball. This will get your team going for sure.
Defenses help win championships and these drills from Coach Weber will bring high intensity, energy, and toughness into your practices that will translate come game time.
Dan Muller
(Rental)-Foundations for Man to Man Defense
$18.99
Get expert instruction on building a top-tier man-to-man defense with Coach Dan Muller. In this video, Muller takes you through his approach, focusing on man principles with a mix of a 2-2-1 press and 2-3 zone, which were key in creating difficult shot opportunities for opponents during his team's outstanding 2017 season. Illinois State ranked as one of the top teams in the nation for creating the longest defensive possessions, showcasing the effectiveness of Muller's defense.
Muller stresses the importance of communication, reinforcing throughout the video, how to ensure your players talk when they close out, help on screens, and call out if they are covering the basket or another offensive player. This type of communication will help your defense move and be able to pick up the right assignment while rotating.
You'll learn drills such as Three Line Closeouts, which incorporates help defense within your closeout drills, allowing you to work on multiple things at once. The Shell Drill with stunting towards the dribble, and Ball Screen Defense, focusing on trapping ball screens, which leads to a constant scramble situation, and utilizes the same rotations as any ball screen.
This video is filled with information that you can utilize for the summer and pre-season install of your defense. Lay the foundation of your program's defense with Coach Dan Muller, and get ready to see an immediate difference in your team's performance.
Geno Auriemma
(Rental)-Four Cornerstones Of Half Court Offense
$15.99
A defense that is good at defending your opponent's interests and takes it away is called "good defense." Coach Auriemma shows you the four cornerstones for half court defense. These areas include defending the baseline drive and guarding and trapping post, closing out the shooter, and protecting the pick and roll. Two key components of the half court are ball pressure on the point guard, and wing denizen. Defensive players can use the three-point line as a guide to help push the offense past the line. For good offensive players, it is necessary to double the line on the pass. Auriemma instructs his defenders how to react to the pass, trapping the post aggressively. To demonstrate the importance of proper close-outs on the ball, a 2-on-2 drill is shown. There are many different ways to pick and roll. You need to consider the abilities of both your opponent and your players when designing a defensive strategy. Auriemma's main goal is to encourage good players to take difficult shots.

Pat Skerry
(Rental)-Four Phase Skill Development Practice
$17.99
Basketball Skills Training - Four Phase Skill Development Practice
Towson University head coach Pat Skerry offers an inside look into his program and how he develops players. He knows a thing or two about player development having orchestrated the biggest turnaround in NCAA history – from 1-31 to 18-13 – in 2012-13. In this video, Coach Skerry takes you inside a live development session where the focus is on skill work for both guards and posts. You will also see live 5-on-0 and 5-on-5 work that shows you a number of offensive sets used during that 18-win season.
After a dynamic warm-up and stretching routine, Coach Skerry takes you right into the skill development session. He does a great job of teaching and explaining the beliefs of his program and the techniques they use.
Drill Series One: Individual Basketball Skills Training
Coach Skerry likes to start all practices with ball handling drills. The drills involve changing direction, finishing at the rim, and finishing with contact. The Nova Passing drill works on multiple skills like communication and using the 1-2-step as they catch the ball. Wings work on footwork while executing the L-cut, finishing off a single dribble, and passing accuracy. Posts learn the “pump and power’ approach to the jump stop.
Drill Series Two: Transition
Perimeter players are the focus in the Drag Ball Screen drill where they learn to utilize the screen in transition. Drive and kick aspects to attacking are also stressed here. Posts are the focus of the Pick and Roll drill. Players learn good spacing and how to throw crisp passes.
Drill Series Three: Using Screens
All players learn to use a variety of screens in the half-court. Posts are taught how to gain position on a block-to-block rip screen. They learn to absorb contact (with a pad) while finishing on the low block. Post players also work on several catch and shoot opportunities from the elbow and short corner. Wings learn the value of the reverse dribble in order to draw the hedge defender out and open up a driving lane for a drive and kick opportunity.
Drill Series Four: Defense
The final series works on defensive development. Players learn to close out, pressure the ball, form a wall at the rim, help defense, weak side spacing and defending the rip screen. Each of the drills focuses on being physical without fouling. The drills also serve as great conditioners.
Learn to combine your skill work with your team concepts to make your practices more effective and more efficient. Narrowing the focus as Coach Skerry does in each drill set allows for more rapid player development. Rent this basketball skills training DVD today.
Frank Martin
(Rental)-Frank Martin's Half Court Pressure Man To Man Defense
$24.99
Man to Man Defense with Frank Martin
In today’s game of basketball, playing good man to man defense is vital. In this video, you will learn the pressure half-court man-to-man of South Carolina head coach Frank Martin. Coach Martin took the Gamecocks to the 2017 Final Four and earned the Jim Phelan Coach of the Year as a result.
Coach Martin will take you through how to set up the defense and the drills he uses to produce one of the nation’s most aggressive man-to-man defenses. Each drill has a purpose in teaching players how to communicate and trust each other in executing the defense.
Man to Man Defense Set Up
Coach Martin’s man to man defense video begins the most basic element of pressure defense – the set up. The defense picks up the ball at half-court and forces the dribbler one way or the other. Defenders learn to be on the line and up the line. As the ball is pressured, the other four defenders play up the line and deny all passes. This forces offenses to dribble instead of searching for and passing to open teammates with better scoring chances.
Included in Martin’s discussion of the set-up is help side defense. Defenders must understand that the further the man being defended is from the ball, the closer the defender is to offer help. This puts even more pressure on the dribbler. Also, Martin’s pressure defense is about attitude and aggressiveness. Those key characteristics are part of the set-up of the defense.
Playing Post Defense
In Martin’s defense, defenders need to be closer to the ball than their man. Post players have to become very good at breaking contact and staying up the line. When the ball breaks below the free throw line, post defenders have to get to the baseline. Martin teaches the Short Closeout drill to teach post players to progress from a closeout to squaring off with a ball handler.
Open Court Situations
To begin the progression of teaching the pressure defense, Martin utilizes a 2-on-1 drill building to a 3-on-2 where players must apply their stunt and force players to choose between keeping the ball or passing to a teammate. The idea that Martin stresses is that a defender should never give up on a play regardless of the situation.
Full Court 4-on-4
From the Open Court situations, Martin then introduces the 4-on-4 Full Court drill to teach all of the principles learned in break down drills. Players learn that when a defender is beaten by a dribbler the second line of defense must stunt and force the ball handler to make a decision. In the half-court, defenders learn how to deal with all sorts of screens.
Ball Screen Coverage
Martin emphasizes ball screen coverage and how to best defend one of the most widely used screens in basketball. Players are taught to go under the screen. You will see Martin teach this in a half-court drill where defenders are taught to be up the line, on the line, and closer to the ball than their man. These are the basic principles of Martin’s defense. Rent this Man to Man Defense DVD today.
Fred Hoiberg

Fred Hoiberg Defensive Strategies & Drills
Current Nebraska head coach Fred Hoiberg has had his fair share of success. He spent 10 years in the NBA and won back-to-back Big 12 tournament titles as the head coach at Iowa State from 2010 to 2015. For his efforts, Hoiberg was the 2012 Big 12 Co-Head Coach of the Year.
In this dynamic presentation, Hoiberg focuses in on the defensive concepts that have helped his teams stifle their opponents. The presentation is unique in that it features five live practices.
Hoiberg begins by explaining his transition defense philosophy, which includes who will hit the boards on offense, who gets back on defense, and how to build the wall. Hoiberg likes to build a wall to take away key scoring areas on the floor. You will see several drills on the whiteboard that teach transition defense concepts and Hoiberg also demonstrates the Line Transition drill.
To improve the defensive skills of guarding ball screens and dribble hand-offs, Hoiberg likes to use 3-on-3 drills. Each drill focuses on a unique aspect of defense such as hand position, staying active, or communicating. All the drills are diagrammed and then demonstrated on the floor.
Fred Hoiberg Defensive Strategies for Undersized Players
There is a segment on how to defend the post with undersized players. Hoiberg shares some key points on how to force post players to turn the ball over. It’s done by using high, active hands as well as taking away any baseline moves to force posts to the center of the floor.
You will get an inside look at how Coach Hoiberg uses an NBA-style of defending ball screens. Different calls are used to communicate how the defense will play any type of screen. Here, Coach Hoiberg shows two drills for defending ball screens.
Finally, Hoiberg shows you the “Down-Back-Stop” drill. It’s a full-court game simulation where one team starts with possession. That team transitions down the floor and then plays defense in transition before the drill stops. The teams then huddle to review the previous rep and talk about the next one.
Coach Hoiberg’s presentation is an outstanding look at how to prepare undersized defenses for opponents, how to defend screens, and how to create turnovers . Rent this Fred Hoiberg Defensive Strategies DVD today.

Off Season Basketball Shooting Drills with Fred Hoiberg
It is one of the most fundamental skills in basketball – shooting. In this video from Nebraska head men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg, you will discover a collection of shooting drills from some of the best shooters of all time. Hoiberg, the former Iowa State head coach, spent 10 years in the NBA and, most recently, was the head coach of the Chicago Bulls. Throughout his career, Hoiberg has collected a number of drills from players like Larry Bird, Chris Mullin, and Reggie Miller.
Hoiberg’s 2012 Iowa State team engineered the biggest turnaround in Big 12 history when it won 23 games and beat defending national champion Connecticut in the NCAA tournament that year. Hoiberg’s Cyclone teams were always among the nation’s leaders in scoring and his 2013 team led the country in 3-pointers per game.
In this 52-minute off season basketball shooting drills video, you will see Coach Hoiberg put his players through an offseason shooting workout. The drills he uses come from the likes of Bird, Mullin, and even himself. Hoiberg led the entire NBA in 2005 in 3-point field goal percentage shooting a blistering 48 percent from behind the arc.
Off Season Basketball Shooting Drills & Workout
The workout begins with warm-up drills for shooters. Each drill emphasizes footwork, balance, and finishing every shot. You will see 10 more shooting drills that cover a number of different situations. Some have conditioning elements while others attempt to replicate coming off a screen in a game-like atmosphere. Transition shooting, shooting off the catch, and finishing at the rim are all skills that are addressed in these drills.
At the end of each drill, shooters complete a round of 3-pointers. Players make two 3-pointers from five different spots – corner, wing, top, opposite wing, opposite corner – before coming back around to make one at each spot. Once the 3-pointers are finished, players make five free throws in order to continue to the next drill.
Coach Hoiberg is a firm believer that shooters are made in the offseason. Using the drills presented in this video, players can create the muscle memory and mental toughness to become top-level shooters in your program. Rent this off season basketball shooting drills DVD today.
Fred Hoiberg
(Rental)-Fred Hoiberg Open Practice: Offensive System
$22.99
Basketball Offensive System with Fred Hoiberg
A well-spaced, disciplined fast break can lead to plenty of success on the basketball court. Nebraska head men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg can attest to that. Hoiberg, the former Chicago Bulls head coach, took Iowa State to back-to-back Big 12 Tournament championships in 2014 and ’15. The big reason why the Cyclones were so successful was the transition offensive system that Hoiberg employed. Iowa State was one of the highest-scoring teams in the nation and led the country in 3-pointers per game.
In this 77-minute basketball offensive system video, you will get an extensive look at Hoiberg’s transition system. Using whiteboard diagrams, Coach Hoiberg takes you through midseason practice sessions focusing on simple primary and secondary fast break actions. Along with the diagrams, you will get a glimpse at Coach Hoiberg’s playbook. Some of the key points deal with spacing, opening lanes for playmakers, and always being in a position to force a defense to make decisions.
Coach Hoiberg then moves to the court for demonstrations of the primary and secondary fast break. Using 5-on-0 and 5-on-5 situations, Hoiberg shows players the spots on the floor where wings and posts need to be to create proper spacing. Big men create space by running the floor, for example. Coach Hoiberg also discusses how players are to react on a middle or baseline drive.
Basketball Offensive System for Transition
After the primary break, Coach Hoiberg gets into the secondary break actions that involve drag screens, a double stagger screen, and a pin down screen. You will see two quick hitters that Hoiberg likes to use to take advantage of aggressive defenses.
Late-game situations are also covered in this video. Coach Hoiberg shows you a late-game inbounds play to get a quality 3-point look for your best shooter. If the long-range jumper isn’t there, the play has an alternative – a layup for a post player. Coach Hoiberg also goes through a late-game situation where your team is ahead, drilling to players to get good looks at the basket.
In the final segment of the video, Hoiberg shares two more out-of-bounds plays and also talks about his philosophy of having three distinct phases on in-season practice. He then discusses each phase and how it is used. Hoiberg also talks about tailoring an offense to suit personnel.
A sound, well-spaced transition offense can leave defenses out of position. Coach Hoiberg gives you some ideas in his presentation on how you can make that happen for your program. Rent this Basketball Offensive System for basketball DVD today.
