Sharman White (Rental)-Free Throw Line Break $15.99
Sharman White: Free Throw & Sideline Fast Break Offense  Sharman White, former Georgia State assistant and current Pace Academy (GA) head coach, sets a goal of 16 to 24 points per game in free throw situations. Coach White is talking about fast break opportunities off of both made and missed free throws. In this on-court demonstration, Coach White shows you how to gain an advantage on any team simply by using the free throw line. Coach White points out how you can attack teams from a dead ball situation and catch them off guard. You will see White’s sideline break alignment using his 14 and 15 play calls with a detailed explanation of each position. The idea is to attack in three seconds or less by moving the ball quickly with overhead passes. Coach White demonstrates how it is done in both a 5-on-0 and a 5-on-5 situation. Once players have mastered this situation, Coach White then goes into counters and how to beat your opponent even when they know the break is coming. You’ll see a flex cut or shuffle cut thrown into the sideline attack which effectively throws out your opponent’s scouting report. Special Situations Another situation Coach White reviews is when your team is trailing late in a game. Using the X and X2 calls, he shows you how to use your players basketball IQ and their athletic ability to generate easy points off a missed free throw or how to get a 3-pointer at the buzzer when needed. Attacking Press Coach White’s presentation ends with him taking you through a press that attacks your opponent whether you make or miss a free throw attempt. In “Black” he demonstrates how to attack opposing post player who don’t like to handle the ball in pressure situations. Against good competition, coaches are always searching for an advantage. Coach White’s special situations strategy is one that can help you and your team add 16 to 24 points per game out of free throw line situations. Full Court & Half Court Match Up Press by John Brannen Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
John Brannen (Rental)-Full Court & Half Court Match Up Press $18.99
Match Up Press Defense : Full Court & Half-Court Teach your players a defense that controls tempo, tires opponents, and disrupts rhythm. University of Cincinnati head coach John Brannen used his full-court pressure defense to take Northern Kentucky to the NCAA tournament in its first year of eligibility in 2017. NKU was the Horizon League champion that season and Brannen was the league’s Coach of the Year. The big reason for his success was his defense. In this video, Brannen shows you three different variations of full-court pressure and how to develop a solid half-court defense. You will witness a series of drills that Brannen uses in order to do so. Your players will learn to develop an explosive first step and stay in front of ball handlers. You will also see how you can create more turnovers and chaos for your opponent. Three Variations of Full-Court Pressure Two of Brannen’s presses are based on match-up zone principles allowing for players to learn consistent responsibilities and the ability to adapt to opponent’s press breaks. Both presses also provide a unique twist to confuse opponents. The third press is based on man principles. White Press: Force opponents to the “coffin corner” and create trapping opportunities Blue Press: Force the ball out of a talented player’s hands 55 Tough Press: Uses man-to-man principles to increase pressure on denying the inbound pass. This is designed to get a 5-second call or a steal off the inbound pass. Match Up Press Defense Breakdown Drills Coach Brannen shows you 10 practice drills that teach players to become proficient full-court defenders. Four of the drills teach the proper defensive stance and correct lateral movement. Defenders work on that explosive first step and how to cut off the dribble. The Box Drill combines all of the skills into one drill. The six remaining drills break down the various concepts of Coach Brannen’s pressure defense. The 4-on-4 Full-Court Shell Drill teaches players how to align on the floor, uses stunts, and slow the dribble. The Circle Trap Drill demonstrates how players should trap and how defenders should anticipate the next pass and pick it off. Half-Court Man-to-Man Defense What players learn in Coach Brannen’s full-court scheme carries over into the half-court. Defenders learn how to align to take away gaps in the defense. Brannen uses six drills to teach the half-court defense. Players learn additional concepts like stunting, closing out, pressuring with active hands, baseline help, and more. Individual players train to become elite defenders all the while building the foundation of a stellar team defense. Coach Brannen’s video is for any coach looking to build a championship pressure defense. Rent this match up press defense DVD today.
Full Court 1--3--1 Trapping by Bob Huggins Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Bob Huggins (Rental)-Full Court 1--3--1 Trapping $15.99
Huggins' defense was born out of necessity in the early stages of his career. It is a regular part of Huggins' program. This defense is introduced by player-by-player assignments. The goal is to split the court in half, from basket to basket. The defense will keep the ball on the same side as the offensive player once it is on the other side. Ball pressure is a key factor in keeping the offensive player away from throwing skip passes or reversing the ball. A 5-on-5 zone drill with slides is shown. Huggins moves the zone press up to the floor making it a full-court attack. It is crucial to keep the ball inbounds once it is in the court. The ball is not in the hands of players who are away from it. They must be on the line and up to the line so that the ball does not cross the area. There are two ways to play this full court trap: a regular or a speed them up approach. The goal is protected, anticipated, or trapped by the players. Each of these duties can be broken down into multiple teaching points. 53 minutes. 2007.

Full Court Pressure Defense System With Breakdown Drills by Mike Rhoades Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Mike Rhoades (Rental)-Full Court Pressure Defense System With Breakdown Drills $18.99
Full Court Press VCU Style Virginia Commonwealth basketball has long been synonymous with up-tempo offense and full-court pressure defense that creates much of the Rams’ offense. In this video, VCU head coach Mike Rhoades, who served as an assistant under Shaka Smart, breaks down his high-pressure defense. You will learn the three different pressure defenses as well as the drills that are used to teach each one. Fist Press Rhoades’ pressure defense all starts with the implementation of Fist. The rules of the press are broken down here as well as the responsibilities of each individual player. You will see how simple it is to create pressure on the ball while maintaining positioning between the ball handler and the basket. Three-on-three stunting is learned to help your players understand how to jump to the ball and jump back all while seeing both the ball and the man. Rhoades demonstrates the importance of communication in the Fist as well as Double Fist and Diamond. Double Fist Full Court Press The Double Fist is used by Rhoades and VCU to surprise opponents. It is a trapping defense unique in that it is not necessarily trying to force turnovers right away, but to force opponents into turnover situations later in games. Players will learn when to trap and how through a series of drills which are explained by Coach Rhoades. The core of Double Fist starts with the 2-on-1 Corral where players learn to speed up ball handlers and force them to the sideline. The drills progress to a 2-on-3 Corral, a 3-on-3 Trap, and a 4-on-4 Trap Interceptor. Each is explained so that you can teach your players the Double Fist. Diamond Full Court Press The final variation of a press used by Rhoades, the Diamond Press is not the typical Diamond that many other programs utilize. Rhoades’ Diamond Press is not about forcing opponents into corners and forcing traps. Coach Rhoades explains how he likes and uses stunts to force opponents out of the middle of the floor and closer to a sideline. It is there where Rhoades’ defense can dictate to the offense. You will learn the nuances of the 4-on-4 drill where players learn to rotate out of a trap and have better opportunities to intercept passes. Coach Rhoades explains Fist, Double Fist, and Diamond as well as the drills used to teach them. For coaches who use full-court pressure or those looking to integrate it into their system, Coach Rhoades’ video is a must-have. 100 minutes. 2018. Rent this full court press defense system today.

Full Court Trapping Defensive System by Don Showalter Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Don Showalter (Rental)-Full Court Trapping Defensive System $15.99
Don Showalter: Full-Court Trapping Defensive System Don Showalter is one of the winningest high school coaches of all-time. In 42 seasons, he recorded over 600 wins and has served as the Director of Coach Development for the USA Basketball Youth Division. Much of Showalter’s success was due to a pressure defense that disrupted the flow of opponent’s offenses. This video is a tutorial on how to apply a full-court trap, adjusting a press to match your players’ talents, and how to confuse an offense by matching their press break moves. Showalter recognizes the always changing skill levels of high school athletes. As a result, he created a simple press defense that can be adapted successfully to players of all skill levels. The bottom line is a defensive philosophy based on constant ball pressure, patience, and effective rebounding. Coach Showalter teaches players how to manage different press breaks. Using a few simple adjustments, players learn how most offenses try to get the ball to the middle. He also shows you how the press flows right into the 2-2-1 zone defense. In addition, you’ll see five drills that help players learn to play this defense. To counter the press, Showalter demonstrates two press breaks. The first involves putting your best shooter beyond the three-point arc. The other is a more conventional 4-across scheme that breaks the trap. Confuse your opponents and create chaos with a simple but effective full-court press. This is the same press that helped the U17 USA men’s basketball team with the 2010 FIBA world title.

Andrew Grantz (Rental)-Full Court Trapping System $15.99
Full Court Trapping System and Breakdown Drills Indiana University Southeast was one of the top defensive and scoring teams in the nation using a full-court pressure system that created havoc for opponents. In this video, coaches Andrew Grantz and Trae Cunningham lay out the entire full court trapping system by demonstrating White, 22, 1 Up, Face, and Double Face presses. The use of each will leave opponents guessing what’s coming next. White Press White is a full-court 1-2-1-1 press that looks to trap when the ball is in the short corner. You will see where to place players on the floor to maximize havoc with deflections and steals. The coaches place an emphasis on getting a good trap at the start of the defense and they expain what to do if the trap is broken. 22 Press The 22 Press is a soft 2-2-1 full-court defense that can lull your opponents into a false sense of security. The idea is to bait the offense toward the sideline where an unexpected trap is forced on them. You will see how to pressure the ball handler, force him to pass the ball backwards, and keep the ball out of the middle of the floor. 1 Up Press This is a man-to-man press designed to keep the ball handler under control and in front of the defense at all times. Coach Grantz and Coach Cunningham then take it a step further and execute the run-and-jump out of the 1 Up Press. This helps to gain a defensive advantage and keep offenses on their heels. Face & Double Face When facing a team with an outstanding ball handler or a player that is extremely hot, Coach Grantz and Coach Cunningham go to another form of the man-to-man press - Face and Double Face. These presses isolate an opponent’s best player and attempt to force a weaker ball handler into traps to force turnovers. Each of these schemes is broken down and detailed with drills included. There is a series of buildup drills that teach players the most important elements of trapping defenses. You’ll see how players are taught to have their ear to the chest of their opponent, how to have active hands, and how to transition into defense right after a made basket. With a pressing system that constantly changes where traps occur on the floor, Indiana University Southeast achieved a high level of success and won over 100 games in five years. Using this system, your team can do the same. Rent this full court trap DVD today.
