Game-Like Offensive Skill Development
Coach Self builds a player’s offensive skills using a variety of competitive drills as well as 2-on-2, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5 play. Players work on ball handling, passing, shooting, and more. Posts and guards take part in breakout sessions to further work on individual offensive moves. For example, guards work on pullup jump shots, L-cuts, curl cuts, and hard shrugs to get shots up within the Kansas offense.
The final portion of the video shows Coach Self using 3-on-3 attacking drills to teach driving angles and movement. Within the 3-on-3, Coach Self teaches using high-low entries to build guard post interaction within the offensive system.
