Rent Basketball Coaching Videos via Mail

Wouldn't you like to become a better coaching in the next week? What if I told you you could double or triple your knowledge of the game in just a few short months? How much would you pay to double your coaching knowledge? Many coaches think they can just get by year to year on experience alone and looking up some new plays or drills on the Internet.

That is a recipe for stagnation. You see if you really want to become a great basketball coach you need to study the game and learn from the best coaches in the business. Now you can travel to coaching clinics, pay for hotel rooms, food, admission to the clinic, and then sit on those really comfortable bleachers for 8 hours. Oh, and you'll hopefully someone will cover exactly what you are looking for. Now that's just the beginning of your problems attending a coaching clinic - because each coach is limited in the amount of time they have on the court so they can only cover so much.

The Fence Offense for Basketball by Eric Bridgeland Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Eric Bridgeland (Rental)-The Fence Offense for Basketball $18.99
The Fence Offense Whitman College head coach Eric Bridgeland has gone 104-14 over the past four seasons using an offense that creates space and provides plenty of easy scoring opportunities. Using the Fence Offense, Bridgeland and Whitman have gone unbeaten in conference play in each of the past two seasons. In this video, you get an inside look at how Bridgeland teaches the offense. Spacing and Positioning in the Fence Offense Players learn to space based off of the NBA 3-point line. Players move into the baseline corners, short corner post and on the sideline at the free throw line extended. Players are taught how to move and read as a ball handler gets downhill and into the paint. Bridgeland teaches players to attack the rim fast and furious looking to score off the dribble or hit a pitch, throw back, or post slide for an easy scoring chance. Coach Bridgeland has a “no standing zone” policy for players in between the baseline and free throw line where they are to be on the move. Offensive Actions Coach Bridgeland teaches a number of offensive actions. He starts with the flare screen. Players learn to over exaggerate screens to prepare them for game speed action As a ball handler attacks the paint, a weak side flare screen can set up an open 3-pointer. If not, the ball can be reversed to attack the paint again. When flares aren’t possible, dribble hand-offs can be use on the strong side of the floor. This can open up wing players to attack the rim. Off of dribble hand-offs, players have multiple options including the following: Catch and shoot Catch, fake, and shoot Catch, fake, and two-dribble attack Throw back for a shot after a paint touch Coach Bridgeland also shows you how to pair the flare screen with the dribble hand-off. You can use both actions together either on ball reversals or as your initial offensive action to get the ball into the paint for easy scoring opportunities. Reads and Film Coach Bridgeland finishes his presentation with a look at a read drill that helps players learn to read both middle and help side defenders. With the right read, players can create multiple attacking options. You will see a few game clips from previous seasons to get an idea of what the Fence Offense looks like at game speed. Coaches looking to implement the dribble drive offense can use Coach Bridgeland’s Fence Offense to reap the same benefits, but do it with much simpler teaching. Rent this Fence Offense DVD today.
The Simplified Unstoppable Fast Break by Eric Bridgeland Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Eric Bridgeland (Rental)-The Simplified Unstoppable Fast Break $18.99
Simple Fast Break Offense With a 104-14 record over the past four seasons, Whitman College head coach Eric Bridgeland has made a name for himself at the Division III level. With over 300 career wins, Bridgeland has an offensive system that is fast-paced, fun, and puts up plenty of points. In this video, Bridgeland teaches you his fast break system that is simple and attacks all defenses. Philosophy of the Simple Fast Break Offense Coach Bridgeland teaches players to get to the paint no matter what. Players dribble and attack, hit the wings and get up the floor and attack the middle. If a player has an opportunity to drive to the basket, he takes it. If he can fill a lane to get to the paint, he does it. By applying this constant pressure on a defense, opponents often find themselves in foul trouble and frustrated because of the number of easy baskets allowed. You will also learn how to draw two defenders to open up the floor and create more driving lanes. With all of your players looking to attack the paint, it becomes hard for defenses to take away any single player in the offense. Spacing and Rules To space the floor properly, Coach Bridgeland uses a traditional setup with two wings, an inbounder, a post runner, and a ball handler. The ball handler looks to move the ball up the floor as quickly as possible either by dribbling or passing to an open wing. There are three rules that point guards must follow: Get the ball inbounds as quickly as possible Get to the paint as soon as possible Make sure you have a trail inbounder Simple Fast Break Offense Drills To teach players to get used to sprinting to their spots in transition, Coach Bridgeland uses a 4-on-0 drill. Players start at 75 percent pace learning how to move up and down the floor and create proper spacing and positioning. Coach Bridgeland uses other traditional fast break drills as well to help players develop the speed and passing skills needed to play fast and get the ball to the paint. Guards use a 2-on-2 drill to focus on getting open off the inbound pass and attacking the middle of the floor. In 5-on-0 and 5-on-5 drills, players put everything together. With an emphasis on time, players get an idea of how quickly they must move up and down the floor. This 61-minute video is an outstanding resource for any program at any level. Players love transition basketball and coaches love it when their players are collecting easy fast break points. Rent this simple fast break offense DVD today.
The Best Quick Hitters & Late Game Plays From The 2016 Olympics by Fran Fraschilla Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Fran Fraschilla (Rental)-The Best Quick Hitters & Late Game Plays From The 2016 Olympics $17.99
The Best Basketball Quick Hitters & Late Game Plays from the 2016 Olympics Fran Fraschilla is a former Division I head coach at Manhattan, St. John’s, and New Mexico. He currently serves as ESPN’s International Basketball analyst and he has analyzed the best teams from the 2016 Summer Olympic Games held in Rio. Drawing from his experience, Fraschilla offers you a unique look at some of the most effective innovations in basketball offense from an international perspective. Continuity Pick and Roll Fraschilla introduces a continuity pick and roll offense used by Australia with great success at the 2016 Olympics. The offense isolates a talented post player all while creating player movement with side ball screens. A big part of the offense is the dribble hand-off. Coach Fraschilla explains the technique in detail and identifies the reads needed to successfully run the offense. Along with the basics of the continuity offense, Fraschilla adds in seven basketball quick hitters that will keep any defense off guard. These set plays use a number of screens to free up post players. Guards use stagger, pin, and flare screens to get open for perimeter shots. Fraschilla also details how Australia dealt with overplaying defenses. Spread Pick and Roll Coach Fraschilla then moves on to Venezuela and Croatia, which both use the spread pick and roll offense. You will see how to catch a defense every time with the Varejao Screen and how to maximize the strain on defenses with back action and short rolls. Fraschilla shows you two basketball quick hitters that flow right into the spread ball screen alignment. You will see a play from Serbia where defenders are run through shuffle cuts and stagger screens. One play from Lithuania helps dissect a defense with movement in screen the screener action. Basketball Set Plays There are always situations where an offense needs to score. Coach Fraschilla shares with you 10 of his favorite set plays from Olympic competition. They can be used after timeouts, in end-of-game situations, or when your team simply needs a basket. Dribble Hand Off Action: From Serbia, this a great play for a team with a great playmaker. Latvia Quick Hitter: It looks like a side pick and roll, but uses floppy action and false motion. Australia Post Up Quick Hitter: Utilizes flex action for post players. Australia Quick Hitter: Uses a 1-4 set and Iverson cut to generate lob opportunities. Lithuania Quick Hitter: Set play for a 3-pointer from the flex. Coach Fraschilla provides you with a wealth of international basketball knowledge in this video. There is something in here for everyone to pull out and incorporate into their current offense. The Fighting Camels have a strong history of good defenses under McGeehan who uses on-court demonstrations to show you his matchup zone. By mixing traditional man-to-man concepts with the rim protection of a zone defense, Coach McGeehan-led defenses have a propensity for taking away dribble drives and ball screens. Coach McGeehan’s presentation begins by reviewing the basics of each position on the floor. Each player has a specific duty beginning with not allowing any easy shots, containing dribble penetration, and blocking face-cuts. McGeehan takes you through 1- and 2-guard fronts and how to match up against them and how to defend the post. 3-2 Match Up Zone Defense Drills With the basics covered, it is on to how to defend the various offensive alignments and actions that you would most likely see. Using a 5-on-5 Shell Drill, you will see how to handle cutters, screens, and the skip pass. Coach McGeehan also points out where help defense is needed against the various actions. Offenses facing a matchup zone will attempt to distort the zone. Coach McGeehan shows you how his teams maintain their shape, which is a key to its success. Coach McGeehan also explains how to defend the five most common offensive attacks against his matchup zone. These include 4-out 1-in, Carolina Screens, ball screens, “V,” and 1-4 High. Using Coach McGeehan’s philosophy of the 3-2 matchup zone defense, you will be able to confuse and frustrate opponents on offense. McGeehan’s defense is easy to install. The Spread Motion Offense by Kevin McGeehan Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Kevin McGeehan (Rental)-The Spread Motion Offense $17.99
The Spread Motion Attack Offense Campbell University head coach Kevin McGeehan shares with you the spread motion attack, an offense that allows coaches to play their best five players regardless of size. The spread motion attack was developed over time and is a combination of Pete Carrill’s Princeton offense with NBA-style ball screens and even a little dribble-drive motion sprinkled in. Coach McGeehan gives you a detailed on-court demonstration of the offense that will help you teach your players how to space the floor and create scoring opportunities. Philosophy Coach McGeehan begins by discussing the philosophy of the spread motion offense and how it evolved. What he shares here will help you adapt and adjust the spread motion attack to your system. One of the biggest components of the offense is how it seamlessly adjusts from a 1-2-2 setup to a 4-out-1-in setup. From the basic setups to spacing and backdoor cuts, Coach McGeehan reviews the offense step by step. Setup & Execution Coach McGeehan continues with the 1-2-2 setup as well as the 4-out-1-in setup and explains various entries and scenarios. He simplifies the entire offense into a number of if-then scenarios. The actions he shows get the ball into the high post and create multiple scoring opportunities by screening away. Different screening angles will create different offensive options, but the basic action allows players to score via backdoor cuts, open jumpers, dribble handoffs, ball screens, and more. Coach McGeehan also gives you variations to the basic sets that counter certain defensive tactics. The idea behind the spread motion attack is to put your best players in positions where they can effectively read a defense and create a scoring opportunity. Coach McGeehan’s video will teach you how to transition into the basic sets of the offense and play through a number of options. Over time, your team will develop a high basketball IQ and become very difficult to defend.
The Ultimate Match-up Zone by Rollie Massimino Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Rollie Massimino (Rental)-The Ultimate Match-up Zone $17.99
The Ultimate Match-Up Zone Hall of Fame coach Rollie Massimino used a multiple defensive system throughout his career that helped him win over 800 career games and a national championship in 1985 while at Villanova. One facet of Coach Massimino’s system was his match-up zone, which he presents in this video. The matchup zone can morph from a trapping zone into a conventional 2-3 zone and, eventually, into a man-to-man defense. It is a system that is designed to confuse and slow down opposing offenses and allows the defense to control where the ball goes. Coach Massimino gives you an inside look into the matchup zone in this presentation. Areas of the Court Coach Massimino’s defense begins with a discussion of the court. He breaks the floor up into three different sections – Green, Red, and Yellow. Massimino then explains what can and what cannot happen in each of the three zones. The discussion expands into the man-to-man defense, full-court pressure, and three traps that can be used in the Yellow zone. Thumbs, Thumbs Up, and Slant are all demonstrated in a walkthrough session. Switching Defenses One of the keys for Massimino was the different looks that he presented to an opponent. In this segment, Coach Massimino breaks down his multiple defensive system in the quarter-court where the defense starts as a 1-1-3. It looks like a 1-3-1, but it is completely different. Within this zone look, Coach Massimino teaches how you can continue the aggressive trapping that he uses in the full-court. Again, he shows you how to take the defense and morph it into a 2-3 zone or a man-to-man defense. If you have interest in learning more about full-court pressure, Coach Massimino was one of the masters. This defensive system will definitely change the momentum of your game.
