Rent Basketball Coaching Videos via Mail

Wouldn't you like to become a better coaching in the next week? What if I told you you could double or triple your knowledge of the game in just a few short months? How much would you pay to double your coaching knowledge? Many coaches think they can just get by year to year on experience alone and looking up some new plays or drills on the Internet.

That is a recipe for stagnation. You see if you really want to become a great basketball coach you need to study the game and learn from the best coaches in the business. Now you can travel to coaching clinics, pay for hotel rooms, food, admission to the clinic, and then sit on those really comfortable bleachers for 8 hours. Oh, and you'll hopefully someone will cover exactly what you are looking for. Now that's just the beginning of your problems attending a coaching clinic - because each coach is limited in the amount of time they have on the court so they can only cover so much.

Ball-Hawking, No Middle, Man to Man Defense Action Plan by Corey Williams Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Corey Williams (Rental)-Ball-Hawking, No Middle, Man to Man Defense Action Plan $18.99
Corey Williams, a former NBA player, knows the value of building a strong defensive team from his experience playing on the 1993 NBA Champion Chicago Bulls alongside Michael Jordan, Scottie Pipen and under the guidance of coach Phil Jackson. In this video presentation, Williams shares his philosophy and teaches viewers how to instill defensive toughness and limit opponents' scoring options. Williams emphasizes the importance of effort, energy, and passion in playing defense. His goal is to frustrate opponents by not allowing them to have easy access to the middle of the court. By forcing the ball towards the sidelines, Williams limits the opponent's ability to reverse the ball and beat the backside of the defense on rotations. He also teaches the importance of active hands and making ball handlers feel uncomfortable, which ultimately forces them to play according to the team's style of basketball. The video includes drills and progressions to teach viewers how to build defensive pressure, maintain active hands, and communicate effectively on defense. Williams also demonstrates how to use 2-on-2, 3-on-3, 4-on-5 drills to teach players how to come together during dribble-handoff situations, scramble out of a skipped pass, and rotate on a baseline drive. He also includes individual build-up drills such as the Pat Beverly Drill, the Name Drill, and the Block-Out Drill to help players learn terminology, rotations and force players out of the middle. Overall, Williams' video is an excellent resource for coaches and players looking to improve their team's defense. It provides clear and detailed instructions on how to keep opponents out of the middle of the floor and smother their offense along the sideline.

An Effective 1-3-1 Half Court Defense by Nick Pasqua Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Nick Pasqua (Rental)-An Effective 1-3-1 Half Court Defense $18.99
In this article, Coach Nick Pasqua delves into the intricacies of using the 1-3-1 half-court zone defense as a tool for changing the pace of a game and slowing down opposing offenses. He explains the positioning of players, their individual assignments, and movements within the defense, as well as key rules to follow. He also provides valuable insight into when to switch to other defenses, such as the 2-3 zone or man-to-man, depending on the situation. Coach Pasqua begins by discussing the role of the top defender (#3) in the zone, who is positioned between the extended lane lines in the middle of the floor and is responsible for making the ball handler uncomfortable by stunting towards the ball. The forwards (#1 and #2) play flat across the middle, using the three-point line as a restraint, while the center (#5) stays between the ball handler and the basket. The bottom defender (#4) stays one step outside the lane line on the same side as the ball. Coach Pasqua then delves into adjustments that offenses may make to the 1-3-1 defense, and provides ways to counter those adjustments, such as how to defend skip passes, passes to the middle of the floor, and ball screens. He also breaks down the installation of the defense, including drills to teach and perfect it. One of the drills Coach Pasqua demonstrates is the 1-3-1 Defense 4-on-4 Drill, which emphasizes stunting at the ball, stunting at passes, and filling gaps. The key teaching points of this drill include close-outs on the ball with one hand and how to use "hit and get" technique during rebounding opportunities when a shot is taken. In a 5-on-5 live-action sequence, Coach Pasqua teaches ball screen defense and stresses that when ball screens are used against a zone defense, man-to-man principles should be applied. He demonstrates several defensive slides and movements that can thwart these offensive attempts to open up scoring opportunities. Throughout the article, Coach Pasqua provides valuable insight, drawing on his experience as the Head Coach at Converse University, as well as his tenure at Wesleyan University, where he compiled a 49-26 record over 4 seasons, led the Warriors to a 20-win season in 2020, and won the school's first ever Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship in 2020. He also shares his experience as Tusculum Head Coach from 2016 to 2017, where he set a school record for most three-pointers made and attempted in a season in 2017. He also played collegiately at King University.
Basketball Pressure Defense Without Fouling by Brad Underwood Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Brad Underwood (Rental)-Basketball Pressure Defense Without Fouling $18.99
Put on the pressure without being reckless! You can apply a lot of pressure and not see an increase in fouls Reduce complexity without compromising its effectiveness A simple, but effective countermeasure that streamlines your ball screen coverage is a good idea. As Brad Underwood has shown many times, good defense can transform a program. Underwood transformed an Illinois basketball team that was ranked 330th nationally in defensive efficiency into a top-ranked defensive team. Underwood did this by changing some key points in his defensive philosophy and teaching his players that vision. This video will show you the drills and principles that are used to create a top-five defensive program. Defensive Principles Any defense must reduce fouls, easy baskets, and open 3-pointers. To guide his team from the bottom up to the top, Coach Underwood needed to focus on just one concept at a given time. He learned from the Milwaukee Bucks, the greatest team in the world. This taught him how to make every game winnable and not foul. As a coach, one of the most important principles to control is your team's communication skills and listening abilities. You can improve your players' listening and communication skills by changing the pick up point or ball screen principles. Your defenders will be able to communicate early, loud, and often so that they can process the screen quickly and move on. Coach Underwood shows you how to use your closeouts and force 3-point shooters to shoot mid-range jumpers instead. Underwood also explains how to use On-Ball Defense to keep your opponent's ball handlers on the one side of the floor. This will allow you to not have to break down or rotate defensively. You can "guard your yard" and keep ball handlers on one side of the floor. Shell Drill You will see Coach Underwood's defensive strategies in action in a 5v5 game. Your players will be taught to remove driving lanes and fill in gaps that can make it difficult to see. Athletes also learn to throw their hands up in contesting a shot, which forces the offense away at the 3-point line. Underwood's approach to defense focuses on closeouts. He walks you through wing drives and middle drives as well as ball screens and post defense. The Shell Drill will teach you how to defend and teach one pass away, as well as side defense. Teaching the flat triangle to players who are only one pass away will change the way they can attack the driving lanes. As they go through Shell Drill, Coach Underwood says that he is always looking for the rhythm in his defense. They have become one of the most respected defensive teams in the country because of this rhythm. It is not easy to teach an old coach new things. You have to modify the way you teach when your team is having trouble defensively. That was the lesson Coach Underwood learned and had to change his defensive strategy. He has helped Illinois return to the championships with his new vision and philosophy. This video is great and shows how you can make small changes to your philosophy to turn around your program! 70 minutes. 2022.

Position Work Christian’s players develop a better sense of where shots should come from within the offense through position work. Post players, for example, work on footwork and passing against a defender. They also work on finishing as coaches use pads to make them go against contact. At the same time, guards work on coming off screens and attacking the paint. They also work on finishing at the rim or kicking the ball back out to a perimeter shooter. Defensive Situations

Basketball Spacing & Relocation by Kelvin Sampson Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Kelvin Sampson (Rental)-Basketball Spacing & Relocation $18.99
Offensive Spacing Basketball & Relocation University of Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson helps you open up the floor and get better on offense through focusing on spacing and relocation. Coach Sampson has had a long and successful career at programs such as Oklahoma, Indiana, and Washington State prior to earning the 2018 American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year award in 2018 at Houston. In this video, he presents to you not only his ideas about spacing and offense, but also some of his thoughts about coaching in general. Sampson talks about his “Five C’s of Coaching” – Competency, Consistency, Confidence, Competitive, and Confrontation – and why they are important in coaching. He also discusses practice, assistant coach roles, staff meetings, how to become a better coach, how to incorporate things learned from other coaches, and the importance of preparation. Sampson believes in playing hard and competing, but at the end of the day reminds you that “shooting is not an equal opportunity employer.” Offensive Spacing Basketball Coach Sampson gets right into the concept of spacing by discussing the most common mistakes coaches make in a free-flowing offense. Sampson points out the three things necessary to a successful spacing offense: A point guard that can play out of the pick & roll A sprinter (big man) that can set the screen A stretch-4 that can make a 3-pointer You will see how to incorporate a ball screen into the offense as well as the importance of the roll man. Coach Sampson shows how post players must sprint to ball screens and how the “hit & go,” popular in the NBA, is run. The next phase in the offense is relocation, which helps maintain spacing in the offense. Guards, you will see, must have the freedom to read defenses and make plays. Warm Up Drills for Basketball Two drills that use the ideas of the spacing offense are presented. They can be used as warm up drills, but they help teach some of the basic concepts needed in the offense. One drill works on catching the ball on the move. Slower athletes learn to attack the middle with the “beat them off the catch” concept. The second drill is the Three-Man Fast Break which works on getting the ball out of the net quickly and getting the ball up the floor. Sets and Actions Finally, Coach Sampson offers some of his offensive sets, including one action out of the pick and roll that is sure to get your players a good look at an open scoring opportunity. Sampson also presents one baseline out of bounds play that flows right into the pick and roll action. This 75-minute video can help you no matter what offense you run. Spacing is important and Sampson shows you why and how to use it to get more open shots, better scoring opportunities, and to score more points.
