Offensive System: High-Low Motion Offense, 3-Out/2-In Offense, 4-Out/1-In Offense
Learn two offensive styles that will fit the talents of any roster in this video from Chantal Vallee, head women’s basketball coach at the University of Windsor and the head coach of the Hamilton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. Coach Vallee provides you with a unique opportunity to learn the two motion offenses that make up her half-court offense. These offenses helped Vallee win five straight Canadian Interuniversity Sports (CIS) women’s basketball national titles between 2011 and 2015.
Get your notebooks ready as Coach Vallee pulls no punches in explaining her offensive system. Using whiteboard diagrams, on-court teaching, and player demonstration; Coach Vallee presents her offenses through breakdown drills and 5-on-5 scrimmages. If you utilize the motion offense, there is something in Vallee’s presentation for you.
High-Low
You will see how Coach Vallee is able to get the ball inside in the High-Low motion offense. Using position-specific drills, Coach Vallee breaks down the offense. Learn how the L-cut can get players open on the wing for scoring opportunities. Posts learn how to play off each other and get open at the high or low post.
Using a 2-on-2 drill, Coach Vallee teaches low posts how to create angles, use footwork to seal defenders, and score at the rim. You will also see how to post up your point guard using a back screen entry into the offense.
4-Out Motion
Vallee’s 4-Out Motion offense uses four perimeter players to create space. The rules of the offense are simple and provide a number of scoring options. Players can score through drives, back door cuts, off-ball screens, and pick and rolls.
There are four methods for attacking with momentum from blast cuts. These are demonstrated as is the 4-on-0 Perimeter Movement drill which puts emphasis on integrating post flashes into the offense. A number of screening opportunities are created which opens up the rim.
Coach Vallee’s system is proven and can work for any team no matter the talent level or style of play. Teams that play with size or with speed can add to their versatility by implementing some of what Coach Vallee has done. Become a more efficient offense today by introducing some of what Coach Vallee presents in this video.
