There drills that the players will work which will break down the man-to-man defense of Coach Dambort. With these drills his philosophy will become crystal clear to you. These practices will work perfecting the individual defensive techniques like the stance, on the ball defense, denying passes and also the closeouts. The segment is very exciting and you will get to learn lots of things like how to build on larger team concepts such as defending on the dribble weave, helping on dribble penetrations and also the Akron’s famous 1-2-1-1 DIAMOND full-court pressure defense. In the minimal practice time, the drills will result in high number of reps. Furthermore, the practice will also work on the 2v2 and 3v3 defensive drills as well in which both the half and full court that work on effort, resilience, intensity and game-like situations. The game-like situations include providing help, guarding the post, defending the dribble actions and much more things.

The practice will come to an end with the numerous offensive plays and actions series that will be run against the man-to-man defense. There will be movement and screening in the Knicks series that will put pressure on the defense to cover. On all the three days of practices, you will go through the demonstration of 5v5 and 5v0. The Xavier series and the 3-in offense will be demonstrated in the very first day as well.

Now you will learning some of the very important defending skills. The coach Dambrot continues from where he left off by teaching how to defend the ball screen. There is a defensive focused practice, in which in order to beat down screens, flare screens, stagger screens and ball screens, the player will explain a series of breakdown drills. All the defensive concepts from communication to positioning to defending the post through denial and double teams, the players will be learning each and everything in order to strengthen your defensive side. All these concepts are emphasized in the 5-on-4 full court drill and shell drill. In order to focus on the positioning and correct technique, the players will go through the Akron’s four-man shell defense. After sometime, a fifth player will be added to this drill and now the team will be focusing on the digging and doubling the opposing post player after a post entry pass.

The presentation of Coach Dambrot will go on with different play options which will include screening and dribble drive, in scrimmages against both man-to-man and the 2-3 zone defenses. You will also learn how the team apply and attack the full-court pressure during the scrimmages.

When it comes to the third Disc, the players go through a practice in which Akron team practice in front of a coaching clinic audience. There are some benefits for that like the Coach Dambrot’s will give a detailed presentation and will explain everything to the members of the audience. The players will also go through a series of defensive breakdown drills which will work on the technique involved in on-ball defense and great closeouts.
