BYU Transition Offense Drills Coach Rose starts practice with a basic three-man weave drill to get his players ready to go fast. They work quickly and practice getting shots off at a high rate of speed. Rose then progresses to a 3-on-2 to 2-on-1 drill. He then shows you his all-time favorite drill, which often uses up to 30 minutes of practice time. The Nugget Drill is a progression-style transition drill that creates a numbered break for the offense each time down the floor. BYU “Basic” Transition Offense Basic is the BYU transition offense. It provides a number of different options including open three-pointers, post ups, and cutters to the basket.
