Chantal Vallee
(Rental)-Multiple Strategies For Neutralizing Ball Screens
$9.00
$17.99
Multiple Strategies for Defending Ball Screens
The ball screen has become synonymous with basketball offenses at every level of play. Stopping the pick and roll is now an essential part of any successful defensive package. Five-time Canadian national championship coach Chantal Vallee shares her thoughts on defending ball screens in this video. Vallee is the head coach and general manager of the Hamilton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. She has developed her defensive strategies through years of researching the best defenses from around the world.
Communication
In defending ball screens, effective communication is paramount. Coach Vallee uses a two-player demonstration to explain a clear system of communication so players can be on the same page when defending ball screens. Her various strategies include:
Switch: Can shut down the ball screen offense down completely. Switching can create mismatches though. Coach Vallee shows you four methods of eliminating vulnerabilities of the switch, including 3- and 5-man rotations.
Hedge: Coach Vallee has players demonstrate three types of hedge to stop ball screens. In addition to the basics of two-step hedges, you will see how to stop dribblers from splitting defenders and options for players recovering from help support.
Jam: This is used to stop a great pick and pop shooter. You will learn proper rotation when help support is needed to take away drives in the paint.
Down: This has become more common in the NBA because it shrinks the floor for the user of the ball screen. Coach Vallee shows you how to rotate weak side defenders when teams send a great shooter to set a ball screen.
Sag: Teams that have slower defenders can drop them back and load the paint. You will see how to use this against the high pick and roll.
5-on-5 Rotations
This drill teaches players the rotations off the ball and in help situations when screens are being set. Coach Vallee has players demonstrate these rotations at walk-through speed before taking the drill live. The responsibilities of each player are discussed.
You will find strategies for defending ball screens in this video that you will not find anywhere else. Coach Vallee’s tactics will help you defend ball screens with a method that best fits your personnel. Rent this defending ball screens DVD today.

Multipurpose Basketball Practice Drills and Special Situations
John Pigatti is the head coach at South Suburban College where he has led a very successful junior college program. He has led his teams to three NJCAA Division II championship games. Much of Pigatti’s success can be traced back to what his players are taught in practice. In this video, Coach Pigatti shares a number of innovative basketball practice drills that teach multiple concepts in a short period of time.
The presentation begins with Pigatti revealing some very interesting statistical data regarding the impact that rebounding and turnovers have on winning basketball games. He then jumps right into nine different drills to work on players’ individual skills.
Limiting turnovers in full-court and half-court situations starts with effective passing. Coach Pigatti introduces some of his favorite passing drills including his trademark Olympic Ball Passing scheme. He also teaches players how to break out of traps using a drill where players learn how to pivot and step through the trap.
Coach Pigatti teaches transition offense and the primary fast break using five-man weave basketball practice drills. To help players respond better to full-court pressure, he uses something unique that he calls Plus One Scramble.
The presentation continues with two rebounding drills. One drill teaches out-of-box toughness and the other is used against teams that shoot a lot of three-pointers. Next is some discussion of late-clock out of bounds plays and then a demonstration of three different baseline plays and one sideline play with a number of options.
Coach Pigatti ends by sharing three keys for scoring opportunities under the basket, from the sideline, or at full court as the game clock winds down. Get plenty of work done in a short amount of time using Coach Pigatti’s strategies and drills. Rent this basketball practice drills DVD today.

Tony Barone: My 10 Best Competitive Defensive Drills
Former Creighton and Texas A&M head coach Tony Barone shares with you his philosophy of defense as well as the drills that helped him build great defenses. Winning championships always comes down to defense and Barone, now a Memphis Grizzlies front office executive, discusses his system which is based upon forcing the ball to the sideline and baseline.
Shell Drill
Coach Barone demonstrates a shell drill that helps defenders perfect their individual skills while also developing the team chemistry needed in a successful defense. He also shows you four different variations of the drill that not only help your team work on its defense, but also on its offense. The result is a super-competitive drill that will make practices more productive.
Team Drills
Two very innovative team defense drills help to ensure each player understands his or her responsibilities as they relate to teammates. Coach Barone emphasizes communication and teamwork to prevent the ball from going to the sideline or baseline. The drills demonstrate effective weak side help defense and how to produce defensive stops.
Rebounding Drills
Defense and the ability to rebound are such crucial pieces of championship programs. In addition to his defensive drills, Coach Barone reviews three rebounding drills that help your players understand how to shrink the size of the floor and control the boards. Each rebounding drill forces your players to compete, which is necessary in building a championship program.
Each of Coach Barone’s drills fit perfectly into his defensive system. Learn how you can incorporate his style and drills into your everyday practices in this 68-minute video.

Jerry Petitgoue
(Rental)-NABC 5 Man Open Post Offense w- Quick Hitters
$9.50
$18.99
5-Man Open Post Offense with Quick Hitters
You simply can’t beat experience. Jerry Petitgoue has over 50 years of head varsity coaching experience and has won 29 conference titles, three state championships, and over 900 career wins. The head coach at Cuba City HS (WI), Petitgoue shares his 5-man open post continuity offense in this video. He details everything from progressions to options to quick hitters. You’ll see all the plays and counters too.
Pressure the Rim
The offense continually cuts, back cuts, and uses a variety of screens to attack the basket. The constant movement and cutting toward the basket opens up scoring lanes. While the actions to the basket change in appearance, the defense cannot cheat because it doesn’t know which one is coming.
Communication
Coach Petitgoue does something rare in clinic videos. He addresses communication on offense. Players make their own reads and must call out their action. With young teams, coaches can call out the actions. No matter what though, the goal is for your players to learn the different types of cuts and options available. Communicating with teammates allows players to be found on offense, keep the motion going, and ensure players are using great timing.
Flexibility
Each set is demonstrated on the court with and without a defense. You’ll be able to build and adjust the sets based on your players’ skill sets or how a defense reacts. If defenses switch, Coach Petitgoue will show you an adjustment.
You will also see quick hitters which can be used to score quickly. The offense can also be used to run time off the clock or force a defense to foul. Coaches, especially at lower levels, can benefit greatly from this video. This is an excellent motion offensive system that can be modified to match your players’ strengths. Nathan Davis
(Rental)-Nathan Davis' Basketball Offensive System
$9.50
$18.99
Nathan Davis’ Basketball Offensive System
Bucknell University head coach Nathan Davis has had plenty of success running a high-octane offense that also allows his teams to run the clock if easy shots are not possible. Davis won four straight Patriot League regular season titles from 2016 to 2019, won two league tournaments (2017 & ’18), and has taken home two Patriot League Coach of the Year awards (’16, ’17). See exactly how he runs the floor and flows right into a motion offense with multiple actions, ball screens, and lots of scoring opportunities.
Transition to Motion
Coach Davis philosophy is to get the ball out quickly on a make or a miss and score within the first six seconds of the shot clock. If that is not possible, the Nathan Davis’ Basketball Offensive System is designed to score in the final six seconds of the shot clock.
You will see how Davis likes to run the floor and create scoring opportunities with dribble penetration, kick-outs, pitch-backs, or screens. Coach Davis also likes the low post player to stay opposite the ball to create space and, ultimately, get catches with two feet in the paint.
5-Man Motion
In the 5-Man motion offense, Coach Davis has the post players work together. One plays on the perimeter and one in the post. The first action you see is a post player exchange with one screening for the other. The action also creates an opportunity for a drive from the ball-side corner.
A second action is the post player setting a screen for a guard when the ball is passed. The guard reads the defense looking to curl for a layup, use a back cut for a layup, or pop out for an open 3-pointer. The weak-side flare screen is also a way to get the ball into the hands of a good shooter.
Ball Screens
In addition to running in transition and using the 5-man motion offense, Coach Davis is a big fan of ball screens. He teaches his screeners to sprint to the screen to achieve the element of surprise. Using actions like Triple and Jazz, Coach Davis create opportunities for two- and three-player actions. Warrior is a ball screen action that incorporates a back cut by one guard and a pass-and-follow ball screen.
Coach Davis teaches you his up-tempo offense and how to use it to create opportunities for quick scores and how to use the offense to use the clock to get open looks and dictate the pace of games. This is an outstanding look at a complete offense. Rent Nathan Davis’ Basketball Offensive System DVD today.

Jim Huber

Next Level Finishing Moves
Take your players to the next level with this unique training program designed by Jim Huber, Director of Coach Development at Breakthrough Basketball. This two-DVD set comes with a 54-page manual that helps you teach 20 different elite level moves. The program is a simple step-by-step system of 20 easy and fun drills that help your players improve their point production and ultimately win more games.
Coach Huber developed this system based on thousands of hours of work with dozens of NBA and elite level NCAA players. These moves are used by the best players in the game at the college and professional levels and now your players can put them to work using Coach Huber’s training program.
Introduction
You will learn more about Coach Huber, one of the nation’s top developers of youth basketball curricula. Coach Huber founded the Mokan basketball program, one that has won 45 championships since 2004 and has sent 22 players to NCAA Division I basketball programs. Huber’s training programs have been used by thousands of elite players across the country.
The Moves
In the second chapter, you will learn how to teach all 20 of the elite level finishing moves. Each move is broken down to its simplest form so that you can easily convey it to your players. Moves such as Rip to the Ear, Scoring Off Two, and Same Foot – Same Hand are simple moves that can result in more easy baskets.
Many of the moves help players take advantage of a defender’s strengths. For players going to the hoop against a taller defender, High off the Glass teaches how to go high on the backboard but soft off the glass. It’s very difficult to defend no matter how big a defender. The Football move is perfect against defenders with quick hands or against multiple defenders in the lane.
The Drills
Chapters 3, 4, and 5 give you a number of drills where players can take what they have learned and put it to work. The 1-on-0 Finishing Drills give players plenty of reps and allow them to perfect the finishing moves that best suit their skill sets.
Chapter 4 adds in Flex Cuts. Players will simulate the most common game situations they experience and then use the finishing drills they have learned. Finally in Chapter 5, players up the competition by going 1-on-1. This is the best way for young players to focus on developing elite finishing moves.
Next Level Finishing Moves will help your players get more playing time, score more points, and ultimately win more games. For coaches, more wins means a much more enjoyable and likely longer career.

Nick Nurse
(Rental)-Nick Nurse Shoot Like a Pro
$9.50
$18.99
Nick Nurse has won at every level he has coached, including leading the Toronto Raptors to an NBA championship in 2019. One of the reasons for Coach Nurse’s success has been his ability to develop shooters. In this video, Nurse shares and discusses how he crafts quality shooters.
Shooting Factors
To begin, Coach Nurse talks about getting the shot lined up. The middle of the ball is always lined up with the middle of the basket. The Toronto practice facility actually has lines on the court to illustrate getting a shot lined up.
The second factor in shooting is arc. Too much arc will cause the ball not to travel far enough. Too little arc results is a shot being more likely to miss. Developing good form and mechanics can help get the correct arc on the ball.
The final factor is depth or the distance the ball must travel. Nurse uses drills to develop a player’s shooting range.
Perfect Shooting Drills
To learn proper shooting mechanics, Nurse uses two main drills: Perfect Form and Perfects. In Perfect Form, players work on their form using a cadence. “Perfects” is a drill with a target on the rim. The objective is to get all net. Nurse expands Perfects with Backup Game where players take a step back from the last spot where they made a shot.
3-Point Shooting
To help players extend their shooting range, Nurse uses a drill called Deep Threes. The concept is similar to adding weight to a bar. Players shoot from progressively deeper spots behind the three-point arc.
Another drill is Five Spot Shooting which allows players to compete against themselves. This video by one of the NBA’s best is an outstanding look at how to develop the complete shooter.

Nick Nurse
(Rental)-Nick Nurse: The Spread Offense for Basketball
$9.50
$18.99
Nick Nurse guided the Toronto Raptors to the 2019 NBA title and earned the 2020 NBA Coach of the Year. Much of his team’s successes are based on his offensive philosophy which is on display in this video. With offensive concepts from the NBA filtering down to the high school level, Nurse makes these concepts easy to understand so you can utilize them at your level.
Offensive Overview
Nurse’s version of the 4-Out, 1-In offense is a little different than the traditional set. The idea is designed to spread the floor to create opportunities to drive to the basket. Perimeter shooters set up around the three-point line and a fifth player is in the “dunker spot.”
The idea is simply to create space and attack the paint. He discusses this in-depth as well as pointing out how points per possession increase when the ball gets into the lane.
Attack Phase
Regardless of how the ball is obtained, one of the keys for Nurse’s offense is attacking in transition. The point guard pushes the ball up the floor while the wings run to the corners. You will also see how Nurse attacks the paint using Pitch with a trailer. The point guard works a handoff with the trailer who looks to go to the rim.
Nurse also shows you how to use the “Dunker.” The first post down the floor runs to the rim looking for the easy layup. If he doesn’t get the layup, he fills one of two spots on the floor looking for a dump off pass.
Pick & Roll and Counters
Like most NBA teams, the Raptors and Nurse use the pick and roll as part of their offense. Nurse likes to use Swing, Drag, and Double Drag in transition to generate drives to the basket. There are also counters that Nurse teaches. One is Pindown where the trailer has gotten too far ahead of the point guard. The wing opposite the ball receives a pindown screen. The cutter can either get a catch-and-shoot three-pointer or curl into the paint.
Coach Nurse’s presentation makes what appears to be a complex NBA offensive system and makes it understandable and usable for any coach at any level.

Harry Perretta
(Rental)-Non-contact & Contact Practice Drills
$9.00
$17.99
Open Basketball Practice: Non-Contact and Contact Practice Drills
Villanova University head women’s basketball coach Harry Perretta shows you how to build daily practices that maximize time and lead to wins. With 25 winning seasons and over 750 career victories, Coach Perretta takes to the court to show you two types of practices. The first is a non-contact practice where the emphasis is on skill development and teaching. The second is a full-contact practice that is much more competitive.
Non-Contact Basketball Practice
The non-contact practice is used to develop skills, keep players fresh, and reduce injuries. This type of practice can be used the day before games during the regular season. The session begins with warm ups followed by position specific skill work.
Coach Perretta has all of his players working with players located at multiple baskets around the floor. There are ball handling drills, post drills, and passing drills that address pressure. As the practice continues, Coach Perretta has his players work on the fast break in a 5-on-0 situation. After that, it’s on to the press break and shooting drills.
Perretta is able to teach the Villanova Motion Offense in these non-contact sessions as well as address other half-court situations. Late-game and end-of-game scenarios are also on the list as Coach Perretta gets his players to perfect each piece of the puzzle.
Full Contact Basketball Practice
Full contact practices still begin with a warm-up, but the focus is on competing and scrimmaging. There are still times for breaking things down and teaching, but preparing players for game situations under pressure is the focus. After the warm-up, players get into the following:
Fast break: Disadvantage drills in 3-on-2, 3-on-3, 5-on-3, and 5-on-5 situations
Breaking/Applying pressure: These drills include zone offense and attacking after a made free throw
End-of-game situations: Players are put in tough positions to force them to grind it out as practice comes to an end
Whether non-contact or full-contact, Coach Perretta’s presentation will inspire you to improve your practices so they become more efficient and effective. Rent this basketball practice DVD today.
