Common Questions

Which backboard material is best?

Tempered glass gives the truest, pro-style rebound and is the choice for competition gyms. Acrylic and polycarbonate are shatter-resistant and great outdoors. Fiberglass is a light, economical indoor option, while steel and aluminum are the toughest, most weatherproof value for playgrounds.

Fan-shape vs rectangular - what's the difference?

A regulation rectangular board (typically 72" x 42") gives true bank shots and is required for competition play. A fan-shape board is more compact and economical - ideal for driveways, playgrounds, and tighter spaces.

Will this backboard fit my hoop or system?

Most backboards mount to a standard 5" x 5" or 4" x 5" goal-mount hole pattern, so they fit the majority of systems and posts. Not sure? Send us a photo of your board or bracket and we'll confirm the fit before you order.

Indoor or outdoor - does it matter?

Yes. Glass and fiberglass are made for indoor gyms. For outdoor courts, choose steel, aluminum, acrylic, or polycarbonate - they hold up to sun, wind, and weather. Filter by Outdoor to see only weather-ready boards.
