California State University, Stanislaus Assistant Coach
Coach Saintignon walks you through the basics of running the secondary break for your team. The secondary break is responsible for reading the defense, while the primary break moves the ball up the court. There is no need for the secondary break to call any plays. It will just be your players responding to the defense. Saintignon walks you through several options from the secondary break. He starts with the wing entry option. This option searches for cutters, and eventually leads to a 3-out 2-in triangular offense. Saintignon offers other options, including Screen and Roll, Screen and Roll and Dribble Clear. Saintignon walks you through his playbook, with diagrams that show where each player needs to be at any given time. Your team will be able read defenses and have open looks for baskets with this secondary break attack.
