Adjustable Full Court Pressure by Quentin Hillsman Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Quentin Hillsman (Rental)-Adjustable Full Court Pressure $18.99
Quentin Hillsman: Adjustable Full Court Pressure Quentin Hillsman has built the Syracuse University women’s basketball program into a national power by using a defensive system that thrives on full court pressure. Hillsman’s defense has led Syracuse to seven straight NCAA tournaments and a trip to the 2016 national championship game. In this video, Coach Hillsman lays the foundation for the matchup press and includes all of the teaching points you will need to successfully implement this defense in your program. Covering Inbound Schemes Coach Hillsman explains how you should scout your opponents to determine how they inbound the basketball. How the ball is inbounded has a lot to do with how the press works. In this segment, you will learn the responsibilities of each player and how they must deny the basketball based on their location. Hillsman will show you how the press can morph to match the alignment of the opponent’s press break. He will also show you common strategies for breaking the press and how to deal with them. Traps & Long Corner Passes Traps are key to the press and Coach Hillsman shows you how to jump into a quick trap and how to deal with long passes to the weak side of the floor. You will keep opponents guessing with where the traps are coming from and HIllsman shares the teaching points behind who traps and when. Trapping up the Sideline Coach Hillsman goes against traditional philosophy and demonstrates how he traps from behind when the ball is brought up the sideline. Hillsman believes the traditional approach leaves the corner 3-pointer open. To counter that, Hillsman’s defense traps the ball after it is brought across the half-court line. This usually forces a cross-court pass that is susceptible to tips, deflections, and interceptions. Signals for traps are explained by Hillsman and he shows you how to get into man-to-man, a 2-3, or a 3-2 zone defense after the press has been broken. Coach Hillsman also shows you how to convert from a matchup style press to more of a zone press. This video shows you how to apply maximum pressure to your opponents at all times. Wear down your opponents with this devastating pressure defense.

Advanced Dribble Drive Motion Offense by Kurt Guelsdorf Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Kurt Guelsdorf (Rental)-Advanced Dribble Drive Motion Offense $18.99
Advanced Dribble Drive Motion Offense : Sets and Entries to Improve Your Dribble Drive Offense vs Man or Zone Former Oregon City HS girls’ head basketball coach Kurt Guelsdorf won more than 450 career games and captured three state championships (2004, 2009, and 2014) by working to put his players in the best possible situations so they could be successful. Much of his success came from his study of Vance Walberg, the innovator behind the dribble-drive motion offense. In this video, Coach Guelsdorf shows you over 30 different set plays and entries that you can easily incorporate into your offense. Dribble Drive Motion Offense Coaching Points Coach Guelsdorf begins with basic alignments in the dribble drive offense to make sure you understand where to look for open gaps and driving lanes. One of the keys to the offense is proper spacing and Guelsdorf emphasizes this in an effort to create driving angles. As the ball swings from side to side in the offense, you create more gaps and the backdoor option allows your players to attack the middle of the floor. False Motion & Isolation To set up defenses and take advantage of scoring opportunities, Coach Guelsdorf shows you seven different sets and entries that utilize false action. It is the false action that helps create the scoring chances. One is Rocket where a series of loop cuts are used as the ball swings around the perimeter. The idea is to create an open driving lane from the wing to set up a pass back to the shooting guard. Coach Guelsdorf also reviews his isolation sets. You will see how he overloads one side of the floor to free up space for his best player to operate. Coach Guelsdorf also shows you how it is also possible to use post players in isolation plays giving them the freedom to work in the paint. 3-Point Specials Coach gets into some special plays that will give your best shooter an open look from just about anywhere on the floor ball screen/flare screen action off of a drive. You will see a number of set plays that you can utilize at the end of a quarter, half, or game. They can even be used in other special situations such as right after a timeout or even to win a game. Box Sets & BLOBS Coach Guelsdorf’s 67-minute video ends with some box sets and baseline out of bounds plays that flow right into the dribble drive motion offense. You will see some similar sets – overloads to one side of the floor, for example – that create mismatches and open up driving lanes for your best players. This entire video is a detailed look at how you can improve the dribble drive offense or simply incorporate some of it to get the ball moving in your current offense. The former Sacramento Kings assistant reviews the basics of his dribble drive offense and then goes into some new innovations in the system. You’ll see some of the basics like offensive terminology, spacing, player positions, and more before Walberg gets into what’s new with the dribble drive zone offense. Over the years, Walberg has made changes to the Dribble Drive. You will see some of those new innovations in this presentation. Some of those changes include the S-gap, the use of the dribble, T-cut, rub cut, X cut, corner cut, and thumb cut. Walberg also describes the value of eyes up, the value of the shoulders, and the tear drop shot and pass. Transition into the dribble drive offense is important to the offense’s success. Coach Walberg teaches player positioning and responsibilities in transition as well as points of emphasis using five fast break drills. These help players create proper spacing to flow right into the dribble drive. When trying to stop the dribble drive, most opponents will go to a zone defense first. Coach Walberg shows you how to take advantage of zone defenses using a variety of actions. These include 2-game, push action, push with 2-game, and more. Each action is explained and then Coach Walberg takes his players through it on the floor. Coach Walberg then looks at ten of the most frequently asked questions about the dribble drive. Aggressive Transition Offense by Ed Cooley Instructional Basketball Coaching Video
Ed Cooley (Rental)-Aggressive Transition Offense $17.99
Ed Cooley: Aggressive Transition Offense Playing transition offense in basketball is more than just running up and down the floor. Ed Cooley, head men’s basketball coach at Providence College shows you how to organize your transition offense in this video. Learn how to execute the fast break at a high level from the 2010 Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year. Coach Cooley shares with you his three phases of transition offense after a miss, his secondary break, and scoring against a set defense. Spacing the Floor One of the key components of running the fast break is spacing. Coach Cooley uses on-court demonstrations to show you the importance of a point guard pushing the ball up the floor and looking to get the ball to a post player for an easy basket. You will learn the concept of “street runners” which are wings that run wide up the floor looking for a drive, an open 3-point attempt, or a dish to the post. It is here where Coach Cooley also introduces his three phases of transition after a miss. Scoring off a miss and getting a score within the first three to five seconds of offense Secondary break using ball reversal and the trailing post player Scoring against a set defense and getting into your continuity offense Getting the Ball Out of Bounds Too many teams spend too much time inbounding the ball after a made basket by their opponent. Coach Cooley drills the idea of “tap and go” with the inbounder and point guard. This starts the transition offense. A simple two-player drill is used to teach this concept where the inbounder gets the ball quickly to the point guard in order to get the ball up the floor as quickly as possible. The Secondary Break When the initial fast break doesn’t result in a shot attempt, the second part of the transition offense begins. The ball is passed to the trailer running the floor. The trailer can swing the ball to the wing and screen away for the point guard. This results in a post-up opportunity or a pass back to the top placing the ball back into the hands of the point guard. The secondary break can also utilize a ball screen. The ball screen is used to take advantage of space and to also try and create some mismatches. The use of ball screens in the secondary break makes it very difficult for the defense. End-of-Game Quick Hitters Coach Cooley also shares with you a number of quick hitting plays designed to produce points in an end-of-game situation. Each play takes into account how many points are needed. For example, the first quick-hitter is a fake dribble hand-off. If you need two points, the point guard can drive to the basket. If you need three, there is an opportunity for a pass off of a fade or pin-down screen. If you are looking to increase the tempo of your offense, learn the transition offense from one of the game’s elite coaches. Coach Cooley covers all aspects of the fast break offense allowing you to easily implement some of his ideas into your offense. Rent this transition offense DVD today.
