I am definitely a Passionate Coach and I want to pass that one to as many people as I can. Hence my logo as a Water Drop, when I share, I create ripples that not only impacts one person, but whoever they encounter in a positive way. Leilani Torres is an experienced Artistic Swimming coach from Puerto Rico that has learned and worked from countries like Canada, USA, Spain and in her years of coaching she has practiced her skills in countries like Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Puerto Rico, Denmark, Chile becoming national team coach of these last three mentioned countries. She is also a mother of two young girls and is married to a renown handball legend, Mateo Garralda. He has gone to 4 Olympics and both met at Athens, Greece in 2004. Leilani has always been fascinated with Artistic Swimming. Since she was young, she looked up too many of her older teammates with admiration, even from other countries like Bill May and Gemma Mengual and desire to become like them. Growing in a country where the sport was not as strong and popular, motivated her to learn from Amazing coaches and their styles like Julie Sauve, Leslie Sproule, Sheilagh Croxon, Elizabeth Price, Holly Vargo Brown, Laura Amoros, Jadine Cleary, Etty del Valle, Maritza Martir and Lorens Callejo that was her first teacher in this journey. Her passion became clear when she noticed how to merge her masters degree in Social Work with Artistic swimming. This sport has taught her many aspects that can be used for the sport, but to encounter life as well. Now, she has found great comfort in giving back, searching for athletes and coaches that want to begin a path in Artistic Swimming or want to grow, and guide them to their desired goals not only through technical feedback, but also through mental blocks by channeling their thoughts into the right focus for each individual. Leilanis mission is to aid as many coaches as possible and athletes that have no guidance within their area, club or in their countries and offer them a place of full support, acceptance, learning, grow, and fun in the process of it all through experimentation.
