Description

This course is the product of almost 20 years of making mistakes and learning from them while developing long jumpers. It's a deep dive into some of my core beliefs in what I believe produces elite long jump performances. It's not a general talk, but highly specific more nuanced one. It's my sincere hope this course triggers your own creative thinking about methods to bleed more speed into the approach to maximize long jump potential.1 Introduction 6:07 2 Speed Development/Training Ideas 8:35 3 Priority #1 2:45 4 Short Approach Jumping 1:48 5 Shape of the Approach Free 2:17 6 Reactive Strength 3:34 7 Steering 6:34 8 Skillful Execution and Takeoff 4:24 9 Strategies of Execution 2:06 10 Interconnected Factors 5:24 11 Keep Progressing Free 0:54 12 Part 1 9:27 13 Part 2 7:02 14 Speed Development Classifications 1:24 15 Shape of Approach Specifics 0:25 16 Common Errors 2:49 17 Reactivity Components 2:40 18 Video 5:09 19 Q&A 6:37 20 Presentation Notes 21 PPT Slides and VideoBob Thurnhoffer finished his first season at the University of New Mexico in historic fashion being crowned the 2022 Mountain Region Men's Outdoor Assistant Coach of the Year.
