Matt Driscoll
(Rental)-Dead Ball Press Offense, Shooting & Buildup Drills
$18.99
Do your players have trouble breaking the press? Put your athletes through a number of advantage/disadvantage situations like University of North Florida head coach Matt Driscoll does. Driscoll is a three-time Atlantic Sun Conference Coach of the Year (2015, 2016, 2020) who is well known for his ability to improve individuals as players. In this practice session, you get to see what it’s like to run a session with intensity and how to make players and teams great.
Film Room
One thing that can set a program apart from another is the analysis of film. Coach Driscoll begins the session with film study. He analyzes different clips in this session in an attempt to reinforce his team’s defensive principles. You will get to see how the film session works in conjunction with the practice to come.
Practice
The session then moves to the practice floor where the team begins with two warmup drills. Coach Driscoll has his team work the Scrape Drill where North Florida works on breaking a press in a 5-on-0 situation. Players work on certain reads and passes as they go full speed. These drills also demonstrate two press breaks that can be used against any defense.
Red Zone Shooting is another drill that gets players prepared for practice by working on jump shots from different angles and on three-pointers from different spots. Players get a ton of game-like shots in a short period of time.
The practice then shifts into higher gear with an emphasis on full court transition. The Transition Build Up drill leads to a full court 5-on-5 game scenario. Coach Driscoll emphasizes both transition offense and defense and works on breaking the press from a dead ball scenario.
From beginning to end, this video has value for any coach at any level. Coach Driscoll is one of the most respected coaches in the nation and his intensity and attention to detail makes this presentation a must-watch.

Greg Kampe
(Rental)-Defending Ball Screens

Open Practice: Defending Ball Screens and Transition Defense
Oakland University men’s basketball coach Greg Kampe has developed a defensive system that has helped the Grizzlies battle some of the top programs in the country. Kampe, the third-longest tenured coach in Division I basketball, has over 500 career wins. His success can be traced directly to his up-tempo offense and his outstanding transition defense.
In this video, Kampe opens the doors to an Oakland practice and shares practice drills, concepts, and more. You will see nine defensive breakdown drills as well as how to build your transition defense. Finally, Coach Kampe covers ball screen defense in an attempt to limit opponents’ scoring opportunities.
Transition Defense
The first priority of any transition defense is to get back quickly and protect the rim against an easy basket. Coach Kampe begins his talk about transition defense by identifying three things that are absolutely necessary: 1) protect the basket, 2) stop the ball, and 3) defender any trailers. Coach then demonstrates three drills that are included in the first part of every Oakland practice early in the season:
5-on-5, 5-on-4, 5-on-3 Drill: The defense works on protecting the rim in a disadvantage situation until teammates can recover and get matched up.
DDM to Transition Defense Drill: Players learn to sprint back on defense after running an offensive set to protect the rim.
Pro Drill: Defenders compete in a multiple of disadvantage situations ranging from 2-on-1 to 5-on-4.
Ball Screen Defense
With a team full of similar sized players, switching on ball screens makes sense. In situations where mismatches can be created, Coach Kampe teaches the hard hedge. Both of these concepts are developed in a pair of drills. The 3-on-3 to 50 Drill teaches players to aggressively switch on ball screens. The 4-on-4 Pitch Out drill is where players recognize whether they should switch or hard hedge.
The 4-on-4 Continuous Screening drill gives players repetitions to help in the fighting of down screens. The 3-on-3 Cross Screen drill shows you a unique strategy for intercepting passes on screen aways. The 4-on-4 Down Screen/Cross Screen drill puts both tactics together and challenges players to defend screen-the-screener actions.
Coach Kampe is one of the most respected coaches in the nation. His video can help any coach at any level improve on defense to play with anyone on their schedule.

React to any ball screen that is set higher than or lower than the 3-point arc and neutralize it
Your screen coverage for the ball should be adjusted based on the types of players.
Learn how to use "jammer", "safety", and other players to limit your opponentÕs ability to pitch the ball ahead of you in transition
Jack Owens discusses in this video the goals and objectives of transition defense. Owens explains ball screen coverages as he moves from transition defense to half-court defense. These half-court coverages can be used to disrupt your opponent's offense goals.
Transition & Half Court Defense
Transition defense is where Coach Owens starts. If your team does not have a strong transition defense, they could lose too many points. To do this, you must establish positional responsibilities. Owens has two main roles: safety and the jammer. Owens demonstrates how to practice these roles in practice. This will allow your team play a full defense of 94 feet, which will reduce the need for transition layups or rhythm threes.
Coach Owens then builds into the half-court with complete denial up to the first pass. He then shows the team a sample drill and emphasizes the importance of communication.
Ball Screen Defense
Owens ends his discussion with a detailed discussion about ball screens on the half court. As the game evolves, ball screen defense is becoming more important. Coach Owens breaks down each screen and explains how to defend them.
This video will provide all the details you need to succeed in full court and half-court defense. Your opponents will have fits if you don't follow the instructions for covering the ball screen.

Basketball Defense Communication
For Coach Allocco, winning was more than just having a great strategy. One of the keys to his defense was constant communication so that players were in sync on every possession. Throughout the drills, Coach Allocco emphasizes this communication to ensure the defense is ready to defend anything an offense can throw at it. Rent this basketball defense DVD today.

With so many offenses relying on the pick and roll, it is imperative that teams understand how to defend it. In this defending the pick and roll video, Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey shows you how his defenses shut down both side and middle pick and rolls at the NBA level. Side Pick and Roll

Casey teaches you to matchup with the ball in the middle to thwart any advantages created off a high pick and roll. Casey also shares his ideas on defending actions such as Laker cuts, split screens, and ball screens out of the Horns set.
Middle Pick and Roll
Coach Casey uses a strategy called “Weak” to defend pick and rolls in the middle of the floor. Post players are taught to keep the ball in front of them and communication between the two defenders is important. Casey teaches the post how to communicate with the on-ball defender and teaches help defenders to “tag” the roller. You will also see how it is possible to defend more unorthodox situations such as when dribblers continue their drive under a basket or use a “cross-grain” to change direction after a ball screen.
The final segment covers the most popular option in the NBA for shutting down side ball screens. Casey calls it “Blue.” Casey will also teach you how to trap out of Blue and defend the screen when they roll or pop out to the elbow.
