There are 13 hours of intense practice that will improve your overall game and performance. There are more than 30 drills and different variations shown by coach Auriemma and his staff in order to improve your passing, ball handling, shooting, transition and also the skill development.
Offense
In order to improve offensive skills and create good team defense the coach Auriemma and his staff will execute half-court and full-court offensive drills. From ability to pass to catch and dribble and shoot all areas of your offensive skills will be covered. From coachs 2-man passing full court drill to 2-line layup drill to the 3-man weave half court and full court drills, he will make you go through different drills that will improve your overall performance.
The coach full focus on building his full court transition offense and for that purpose the coach will run 3-man transition drill that will progress to 4-on-0 and 5-on-0. So what these drill will do? Well, the drills will replicate a game-like atmosphere and will really work on pushing the defense for a lay-up or it will also get them to back up that will ultimately leave you with a 3-point attempt. Not only this, but these transitions will also improve team communication and conditioning.
The half court offensive attack is also explained in the best way possible by the coach Auriemma. He makes use of player positioning, spacing, methods of entry, selected plays and many of the passing and scoring options for the offensive set. In order to work on paper timing, cutting, screening, reading the defense, spacing, getting open and shooting, the coach will run several breakdown drills.
Defense
Good defense is all about knowing your opponent strategy and anticipating his moves and then blocking it and taking it away. You will learn how coach Auriemma and his staff will teach the players to defend the baseline drive, close out on the shooter and defend on-ball screens, rebounds and also the communication factor.
